3rd miscarriage

So I've had my 3rd miscarriage confirmed today :(
3 consecutive miscarriages now.
1st Aug 18 - mmc at 12 week scan, baby stopped at 7.5
2nd Jan 19 - hb at 6 weeks and nothing at 8 weeks
3rd May 19 - mmc at 9 weeks, stopped growing at 5 weeks.

I've been on progesterone pessaries with this pregnancy so now I'm thinking what's next?
I'm already seeing a Gyn/OBs consultant who has carried out various blood tests all are normal. I'm thinking about having Karyotype testing done next?
So mentally, emotionally and physically draining this is :(

Were all the miscarriages definitely due to genetic issues? If so yes definitely Karytoping may help. If not then depending on the reason you might need different tests / treatments. For example ICSI can reduce the risk of molar pregnancies. Clotting / thyroid /autoimmune tests (and then an appropriate treatment protocol) if genetically normal embryos.

Similar boat here, I am thinking of asking about the NK cells testing and Karyotyping and possibly DNA fragmentation for DH. It's a minefield tbh. My dr basically treats you as if you have clotting problems because the treatment is the same for lots of things. I got pogesterone, clexane and aspirin from him. I am hopeful that the genetic testing from the d&c will shed some light for me. So sorry for your loss xx

@Teddybear45 @Thumbellini
I've not had any genetic testing done yet however I've just been to see a private consultant who specialises in recurrent mc, was lucky enough to call up and get an appt today (desperate for answers I guess)
He has recommended that I don't have any mc treatment yet (as suggested by the epu dr's) for the next 48 hours as he will decide what I should do, I think he wants me to have a D&C so he can send of the pregnancy product for testing. He's also recommended genetic testing but wants to view my scan from today. I do have under active thyroid but he said my bloods show that is stable so shouldn't be a contributing factor to the mc's. He seemed very positive and I just wish I'd seen him earlier in the year.
He's also suggested we stop ttc until he's carried out all his investigations. We spoke about IVF ICSI and he thinks we may have to go down that route but wants 48 hours to go over my medical records and scans from the last pregnancies.
I feel a lot better since seeing him - psychologically better! Had a good cry and a massive piece of cake and a mug of caffeinated coffee as had cut out all caffeine and ice brought myself a new dress!
It's a rubbish situation but it is what it is.
Sorry if you e both gone/going through losses.
Xx

@Thumbellini I've been prescribed progesterone and used it in this pregnancy so was very hopeful! I was recommended aspirin from 8 weeks but didn't make it that far. He did say progesterone/aspirin/heparin are mostly given for recurrent mc. I hope you get the answers you are looking for too. I've had lots of blood tests done for eg clothing etc and all have been normal.
My appt with my nhs consultant is next week but I wanted to know if this pregnancy can be genetically tested and I know it will be too late by the time I see him. He's very good and I do feel guilty that I've gone private too but atleast I've taken a step forward I suppose. Xx

Have you been tested for the MTHFR gene? It affects the body's ability to metabolise folic acid and get the right form to the embryo, as well as complications with clotting and the methylation process.

I'm so gutted to hear about your loss. It's the shittiest experience and my heart goes out to you. I highly recommend reading 'It Starts With The Egg' by Rebecca Fett and 'Is Your Body Baby Friendly' - they've really helped me get ready for another try at pregnancy. I found out I had thyroid issues but I've also been working at supplementation, getting rid of BPA and pthalates in the home amongst other things. It Starts With The Egg has helped many many women get pregnant - check out the Amazon reviews and the FB page. Wishing you luck my lovely xxx

@Botanica
Hello, no I've not been tested for that maybe I should mention it to the consultant when he calls me tomorrow. I was prescribed 5mg of folic acid and have been on it since January. I feel like I'm exhausting all avenues, maybe a break will do me good. Both my best friends are pregnant and I think I felt the pressure of ttc when I found out. But I'm over that now. I will definitely follow up your recommendation. Thank you x

@Martini123

Thank you, these forums have been life savers. Talking to ppl who understand really makes me feel better.
I will have a look on amazon now and order it. I took up yoga earlier this year and reduced work levels but feel like I'm fighting a lost battle. Hopefully I will feel a lot more positive in coming weeks. Xx
