Early private scan

I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my fourth pregnancy (two previous chemicals and a missed miscarriage). With my missed miscarriage I had a private early scan at 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat but then at my 12 week scan they said the baby had died around 6 weeks so very soon after the private early scan.

I am petrified that it's all going to go wrong again and kind of want another early scan...especially since it seems to be dragging but I'm worried that the private early scan killed the last pregnancy.

Thoughts please...x

So sorry for your previous losses. I would say go for a private scan- it's not going to harm your baby. I'm currently pregnant (13 weeks) and have had three early scans already and have found it massively reassuring. Have my NHS dating scan tomorrow and don't think I could have waited this long without already having had a scan by now!

I went for a private scan too, im now 15wks & my baby is fine.if it puts your mind at rest then its worth going to get one xx

I previously had 2 MMC and a chemical so I totally get the stress. I had two early private scans this week. One at 8 weeks and one at 10 weeks. Then in addition to 12 weeks the hospital gave me a 16 week scan for reassurance. I just had my 20 week scan last week and all is ok so far so please don't worry about the scans hurting the baby. I would add I've also had two brief scans before cervix measuring ones in between all this as well so actually that's 7 so far! I found the private scans really helped get me through to 12 weeks although I cried at that one as I was terrified! Wishing you all the best with this pregnancy x

I had a MMC last year and the same thing happened, we had a private scan and saw heartbeat at 7 weeks and at my 12 week scan found out the baby had stopped growing around 8 weeks, however I am now 19 weeks pregnant and luckily the early pregnancy unit scanned me at 6,8 & 10 weeks which I found reassuring. Yes you will still worry but I would say defo go for one if you can x

@Lisalou88 sorry for your loss . With the MMC did you still have all your symptoms?

I had an early scan at 6 weeks EPU and private at 7 weeks. It’s my 12 week scan on Friday and I’m petrified.
