I'm 21 weeks. Recently been feeling baby move kind of a pulsing sensation ( so hard to explain) when laying on left side. However number of movements isnt regular.

Just laying down for nap but no pulsing feeling. ( felt early evening yesterdsy)Is it normal to not have regular movements this early or should I be noticing patterns??

It really depends on the person and also the baby.. baby could be growing and getting a little less active. I would always trust your instincts tho, mum always knows what's best so if you are worried then I should ring your midwife x

I don't think movements get regular until after 24 weeks. For my first pregnancy I didn't even feel anything until almost 24 weeks and movements weren't regular until after 28 weeks. Midwives and consultants said that was fine.

It’s normal to not have regular movements before 28 weeks.

I couldn't feel my baby at 21 weeks so I'd try not to worry, but call the midwife team if you are worried, that's what they are there for!

I'm 20 weeks and the fluttering type movements I have felt are also very sporadic. I've also been told I won't feel as much early on with an anterior placenta - it's only really at one side or low down. I'm hoping there will be more regular movements in the next few weeks. Some days I hardly feel anything and then sometimes loads!

I felt pulsing sensations, never the fluttering or bubbles sensations people describe. But at 21 weeks they weren’t regular and midwife isn’t concerned as a pattern emerges more around 28 weeks.

Hi there! I’m 22 weeks and only in the last 4/5 days have I felt more noticeable fluttering but only occasionally and also I get the pulsing feeling too. I was beginning to panic as well but it’s reassured me a little bit. I’ve been made to believe anything after 24/25 weeks should have more of a pattern or be more noticeable but always good to go with your instinct!! Xx
