Worth looking for a heartbeat at 6/7 weeks?

Hi
I'm 6 weeks' pregnant and have had light bleeding the last 2 days - mostly when I wipe after a pee, but also a bit in my pants (sorry tmi!) This happened at around 6-7 weeks last time and I discovered later I had miscarried, so I'm slightly terrified.

Thinking of going for an early viability scan but wondering if you can even see a heartbeat this early? Am I just going to get more stressed out if it's inconclusive? If I wait until next weekend I'll be more likely to get a clear answer, but I'm desperate for reassurance now!!

Anyone have experience to share?

Thanks

Honestly hun, you have to decide that for yourself. Me personally, i'd wait til 12 weeks? My first i miscarried, had an early scan that was fine but at 12 weeks not, so second pregnancy i just thought that there is literally noooooooothing you can do but try and distract yourself and just wait, but thats me personally.
Also a heartbeat at that stage, pretty early, so lets say they didnt find it, would it make you more anxious? I genuinely dont think there'll be anything to put ur mind at rest until baby is here, so just try not to overthink anything.
My honest advice is just wait it out and what will be will be, good luck, everything crossed for you!

6 weeks it's not certain but there should be a heartbeat at 7 weeks.

You should do from 7 weeks provided you have a transvaginal (internal) scan. For abdominal scans it’s usually after 12 weeks.

6 weeks yes BUT you may not even be that far along, I had a scan at 5+6 with no heart beat, doctor told me he was measuring 5+1 with no heartbeat, next time we went he was fine, it's just I fell pregnant later in the month than I'd thought according to my dates

If you book an appointment bear this in mind

Good luck - oh that was my second baby, I had lots of bleeding with my first and she's fine, also suffered bleeding with mc too so don't write this pregnancy off as bleeding is common, the blastocyst and foetus bury into the lining of the uterus and start forming the placenta - all this can cause cramping and some blood

I had an abdominal scan at 7+1 and saw a heartbeat so perfectly possible

I had a scan two weeks ago at exactly 7 weeks, when I got there she said I was 6+5 weeks. Seen a good heartbeat on scan.

I waited until 8 weeks to book mine just in case dates were off, figured it would avoid any worry if no heartbeat was found and having to return for extra scans.

Can you call epu to try get a scan on nhs?

I had a scan at 6 weeks on the dot and saw a heartbeat.
But like a PP has said you're dates might not be spot on, perhaps wait til 7, or even 8 weeks if you can
