Hi I am 22 weeks pregnant and going away to Ibiza next week to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. I’m really worried about what to eat in the buffet. I’m practically a vegetarian so would normally eat lots of salads and fresh melon / fruit. worried what to eat as I know these are said to be off limits in case they haven’t been washed and getting ill from toxoplasmosis. Any ideas if it is safe to eat? It is a 4 star hotel so think the hygiene would b good. Don’t want to spend the week stuffing myself on chips and bread!

Maybe stick to cooked food like cooked vegetables and anything curry/lentil like (good protein). For things like salad and fruit, if you can peel the fruit you're all good and if you're there early and it's just gone out you'll probably be fine. I'd just use your good judgement!

Stick to cooked vegetables and curries etc when can, fruit you can peel and tbh if it's just gone out it's probably ok. Nothing that's been there a few hours. Use uour judgement, be picky and have fun!

I've eaten precut unpeeled fruit in my pregnancy and I lived somewhere a lot riskier than a 4* hotel in Ibiza. I agree with the veg though - I avoided salad and only ate cooked veg when out. I actually went almost vegetarian as I found it hard to find meat cooked properly.

You can eat most cheese and all cheese if cooked so that should help with protein. Also I ate a load of hard boiled eggs and well done omelettes so you could ask for them for breakfasts.

Pasta dishes with sauce. Lots of fresh Spanish bread with tomato based dishes like patatas bravas etc. But it depends on the kind of place you're staying. I'd have thought Ibiza would be a great place for food if you're in a nice resort but I've never been.
