Postpartum hemorrhage

Hello - hoping someone has some insight... I experienced a postpartum hemorrhage with my first child. I had my second six weeks ago. My bleeding stopped four weeks in, but picked up again during the 5th week. The bleeding is bright red and appears where I wear my baby or hold my toddler. I had an ultrasound, which looked good. My doctor is unsure of why I'm still bleeding but said she isn't concerned. I can't help but worry though...

Has anyone experienced this? Thanks for your thoughts!

FYI, I delivered via c-section.

I found that my bleeding/lochia got worse with activity, which is apparently very common. The usual advice is to slow down and try not to overdo it if you notice this happening. My hunch (speaking only from experience - I'm not a medical professional!) is that holding heavy weight (your toddler) or wearing your baby probably falls into the 'too active for your body at this point in time' category.

Bleeding gets worse with activity, so it makes sense that it happens after picking up your toddler for example. It can also stop and then start again. It is completely normal and expected to bleed for at least 6 weeks (and sometimes longer). Given that the scan showed nothing, you're fine!
