Headaches

Hi, just wondering if it is normal to keep experiencing headaches?

I check my blood pressure everyday and it's always around 107/67 so I know it's not that. I feel like I've had headaches everyday almost, for the past 2 weeks. They feel a bit like tension headaches, they don't interrupt my day but are always there. I'm now 19+3.

I've been having lots of headaches, and told it will settle down eventually. It's linked to hormones etc. I'm 15+2

I'm in the same boat! 11+2 and always have a headache! Husband was rushed to hospital early hours this morning with a heart problem so I've not particularly slept, which I can't imagine has helped today's headache Envy

@Andersonx3 oh no! I hope you're husband is okay!

Passthecherrycoke · 17/05/2019 18:21

Oh no Anderson poor you. OP yes they’re really common especially as you go into the second trimester. Don’t forget you can take paracetemol. Water can help but I found it took enourmous amounts

Andersonx3 · 17/05/2019 18:22

@Passthecherrycoke @LKH27 thanks both, he's okay just resting up!

I do hope your headaches subside, it can be really hard work especially if you're busy/working/have kids.

Get your eyes tested. Pregnancy can sometimes affect your eyes and it might be linked to eye strain.

I got them still do occasionally. Usually last 3 days. Was told it's the increased blood flow. But if dont go away I was told to call midwife.

I was blue lighted to hospital last Friday due to what I can only describe as hell! The pain was radiating from my neck to the top of my head, behind my eyes, my temples and it felt like a drill going through my ears ...... it was horrendous!

At the time I would have been 17wk 5 days. I was given a pain killer called Zapain to which I took two an hour apart. This took the edge off but it was more of a cluster headache (known as suicide headaches) so I was given pure oxygen which in turn made me feel like a new person!

Whilst at the hospital a nurse mentioned about side sleeping. She said it’s the best position as sleeping on your back can cause blood flow issues and lower oxygen levels. This in turn can leave you with a nasty head rush when you awake and in turn leave you with an overwhelming sensation that comes from every direction.

I do normally sleep on my back and side using a wedge to stop myself rolling onto my back I’ve found my headaches have become a lot less frequent and the only thing that triggers a slight headache is stuffiness and sinuses which is normal in pregnancy

I've been having the same from 16 weeks, really horrendous headaches and was told to take codeine and iburfrofen by a midwife, I double checked with my doctor and another nurse and pharmacist they all said paracetamol only

The paracetamol help a little bit, sounds silly but I also changed my pillow and that helped slightly but I think they're just hormonal based. I got my first headache the same day as I had a leaky boob so my hormones must've been raging
