Tingly hands

33 weeks and for last week or so, every time I wake up - so that's a lot - I have pins and needles in my hand? Today I've also got a hot feeling in my right hand fingers, about 2 hours since I got up.

I know carpal tunnel syndrome is common in pregnancy so hopefully just that. But I am not particularly swollen, so it's a bit unexpected.

Anything to worry about? Or just another joyful pregnancy symptom?

Are your hands swollen? Do you have any other symptoms such as headache, high blood pressure, etc.?
Might be worth getting checked over and having a set of obs done.

Im 35 weeks and get this too! I did mention at my midwife app yesterday and midwife wasn't concerned x

I have it too, I read that pins and needles are common in the last trimester but I have been in for a check up this week so I know that blood pressure etc is all ok

Thanks all. I'm mildly swollen but not really. Rings are tight but I look normal. Have a midwife appointment next week so will be sure to mention it then.

If it gets any worse or other parts tingle too or other symptoms appear ring your triage midwives for advice.

DulcieRay · 17/05/2019 22:30

Maybe take your rings off just in case?
Edema in pregnancy

Can come on quite quickly.
Sorry sent too soon!

Is your home particularly hot? Heat can make it worse, as can not getting enough rest, being dehydrated, too much salt

Carpal tunnel probably. Press the backs of your hands together with fingers pointing down and wrists bent. Wait a few minutes and if tingling or numbness start it’s carpal tunnel.
Very common in pregnancy.
