Struggling with boys names!!

I’m having ds2 and really struggling!!

I want something that goes with an Irish surname, classic that isn’t easily abbreviated, and isn’t very common.

For example, I like James, Finn, Henry but they are already in use in our family.

Any thoughts?

Oh my me too I have huge list of girls names and my boyfriend doesn't like most I suggest. Not sure about any that would go with Irish surname. Only one I liked was caleb ..

We’re expecting a boy imminently and plan on calling him Rory.

@gillian1980

That’s my brothers name! It’s lovely!

My parents spelt it as Rudhraigh on his birth certificate!! So was always funny to hear people’s attempt at pronouncing it!!

I always said if I had a boy I'd never name him after his dad, because it's unoriginal. Fast forward to now - 5 months pregnant and I'm naming him Andrew after his dad 😂😂

My other choices were:

Jake
Joshua
Thomas
Nathan

My brothers name is Sean (were Irish and all have Irish names that none can spell haha) what about Finley? Patrick? Theo?

Bere111 · 16/05/2019 17:21

@1990
I like Finn but we already have a Finn and a Quinn in the family!
My other brother is called patrick, I’m not sure I like pat all that much?? Even though he’s always been called that.
Someone suggested paddy but I don’t think I could cope with that!
Funny as with my first, we and dh agreed and that was that- never considered anything else!! No I can’t make up my mind...

I’m thinking either Sean or Joseph

We're going with Rory too ☺️

What about Ruari, Oran (Odhran) Padraig, Niall or Oisin?

I really love Oran, bit gutted we won't get to use it, definitely one and done lol
