Expected week of childbirth with twins

Hi

Hopefully you ladies will be able to help.

If you are pregnant with twins, when is your expected week of childbirth on your matb1 form or at a dating scan? Is it still recorded as 40 weeks or is the ewc date brought forward?

Thank you

No, it’s usually around 4 weeks before.

Mine was still put as my normal (40 week) due date on my mat b1

Long time ago for me but it was recorded as 40 weeks on the Mat B1 and elective section booked in for 37 weeks.

40 weeks still.

Ok thank you. I was trying to work out when I could start TTC to get my maternity pay from work. Then I suddenly thought ‘what if I have twins and everything gets pushed back 4 weeks’

Mine is recorded as 40 weeks on matb1 but due to complications I will not be going beyond 36.

Try not to plan so much! You may get lucky and fall pregnant your first cycle, or like me it could take years and IVF. obviously I hope you have an easy fertility journey, I just mean babies don't come on demand at the exact moment you want them to!

@cosmogirl86 I do tend to overplan everything. It is sometimes a curse Smile Luckily my maternity pay is amazing so we have been waiting until now to start TTC. I just wanted to understand the dates. I didn’t want to have the ewc brought forward and not qualify for maternity pay after waiting so long.
