Trying for my first after a miscarriage

Hi everyone :) new here...

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to be putting my first comment, but here’s my story..

Myself and my fiancé fell pregnant when I was having a break from my pill (sick of pumping my body with crazy chemicals..) we were trying to be careful but one thing lead to another and I got a positive pregnancy test! We were in shock but both thrilled :)
Then two weeks later I bled and had a miscarriage. Worst time of my life, but thats another story.
Long story short, we realised life is too short and we don’t know how many (if any) more miscarriages we will have to go through before we can carry full term. SO. We have decided to try again even thought we weren’t trying in the first place.
So, we had a great time in the bedroom a day or so before and the day of ovulation (according to the Flo app - opinions on this welcome) which was last Thurs/Fri/Sat. It’s now Wednesday and I’m getting cramps, bad bloating and lower back ache. I’m not due on until 26th (according to Flo).
Does anyone think this could be implantation? I know it’s too early to do a pregnancy test, but I’m desperate to know what’s going on with my body..
Any advice/experience/words of wisdom are welcome!

All the best!

There’s absolutely no way of knowing sorry! Cramps, bloating and back ache can happen at any point during your cycle, and when you desperately want to be pregnant you often are much more aware of your physical symptoms and read into everything.

The apps can be useful for tracking predicted ovulation and sex but I wouldn’t rely on them, they’re not based on your specific cycle and cant tell you when you’re ovulating for example. I used OPKs when trying, peed on one twice per day until it showed me I was ovulating (it did happen to match up with the app but not everyone ovulates on day 14), and banged two or three days on the trot around ovulation. We got pregnant first time, two weeks after we started trying, thanks to the OPKs! You can get them very cheaply on amazon (not the fancy digital ones, just the sticks). They don’t of course prove ovulation but they tell you when your body is gearing up for it. It was actually really fun watching the sticks be either totally negative one day or have a faint negative the next day and then be raging positive. It gave me a lot of confidence knowing we were having sex with a good chance of an egg being in there ready and waiting and meant we didn’t have to have sex constantly through the month even if we didn’t fancy it. Would you give something like that a try?

Oh, my OPKs also showed me I was pregnant too btw. I tried a few for fun leading up to my period due date just to make sure they were negative and they were positive day after day which indicated pregnancy as I shouldn’t have been ovulating four days on the trot on cycle days 24-28 😂

Good luck! And sorry for your previous loss 💜

Hi @ttc,

Sorry to hear about your loss- I had a mc last November and it was a very shit time.
We waited two months- mainly because I had some gynae apps (unrelated to mc), so it made sense to get the all clear in those.
After 2 months, first month trying we were pregnant again.
I’m now 20 weeks today! Expecting a little boy (I already have a DS who is 5)
Anyway, whether or not this month is your lucky month...I just wanted to say be hopeful, and remember miscarriage isn’t an ending- but a part of a journey.
I would also say mc definitely sends your cycles haywire! I didn’t use app or sticks or anything, but ovulated at least 5 days before I had my usual ovulation symptoms- I can’t explain it! So it is a miracle I got pregnant on that day, and one time
I’m grateful dh was nagging me to DTD!!!
If you’re not in luck this month, I would highly highly recommend trying
Reflexology - it’s great for promoting ovulation and wellbeing in general!
Good luck with everything and keep us posted xxx

You really can't know. Some may say yes and some no.

Sorry for your loss. Flowers My first was a mmc, my cycles went crazy after and ever month i thought i could be pregnant. The mind can be a bitch sometimes. Hopefully all will be good but be hopeful, but don't focus too much on 'could be' if you can.

Thanks everyone Smile I think I'll try the ovulation tests if it turns out negative this time. I know full well I'm getting ahead of myself, but you all know it's hard not to lol

Off to amazon I go! Take care all x

I used Flo! Had been for over a year. Thought it was super accurate on my ovulation dates. Got pregnant on the first try.

Turns out my ovulation dates were out by a week on my 12 week scan, I was ovulating around a week earlier than expected. I'd use it as a guide and DTD every few days to hit the days before your expected ovulation as well as those after you think it's happened, too. Just to cover your bases!

sarebear1983 · 16/05/2019 16:09

Like people have said, it could happen at anytime of your cycle. But do you know if those symptoms are usual for you during your cycle.
They aren't for me so when I started cramping around a week before my period was due, I knew there was a chance it could be implantation and yes I was pregnant so it definitely could be be unfortunately there's no definite answer, it's a wait and see situation.
Really hope you get what you want, good luck! 🤞🤞🤞
