Hi All,

Just looking for some advice please. I woke up this morning and had a very small amount of blood when I went to the toilet. I am currently about 5/ 5.5 weeks pregnant. I’m panicking. I know it is normal to have a small amount of spotting but the NHS website says to contact your GP/ midwife if you have any vaginal bleeding. It was so little I’m worried I’d be seen to be over cautious but also going out of my mind with worry. I took another HPT after I saw the blood (squeezing out enough pee quickly before work) and it was a stronger positive than before. What do you think I should do?

Ring your gp/midwife and let them advise you.
There's no point in worrying about being seen to be over cautious, the baby is more important than what people think of you

Thank-you. I’m very weepy at work and feel a bit of a fool as I know that’s the right thing to do. Feel very helpless at the minute. I though the TTC was the hardest part; no one warns you how hard it is to be worried for your pregnancy xxx

I had spotting from 5-7 weeks and was heartbroken thinking I was miscarrying but baby was fine! I would speak to the GP and hopefully they can refer you to your local Early Pregnancy Unit for a scan.

I’ve got an appt for an early scan next week (when they’re sure I am 6 weeks). I feel like this is going to be the longest week of my life. I just hope everything is ok.
