I have put on 1.3 stone and am 23 weeks pregnant... I feel like this is high. Can anyone advise what weight they have put on at this stage? Thanks! Cake

Pretty similar. At 24 weeks I had put on about 1 stone 3 lb. Not particularly concerned by that, can still comfortable meet the 25 to 35 lb guidance. Mostly focussed on eating nutrious food and keeping as active as possible, to stay healthy and to make recovery and losing weight later as easy as possible :)

I'm 30 weeks and have gained about 12-14lbs. All this has been in the last 4 weeks or so.

Aw12345 · 13/05/2019 00:51

All told I gained about 25kgs whilst pregnant... Obviously lost some when ds born but thanks to breastfeeding the rest came off really easily 🙂

I'd just say try not to worry, pregnancy is tough, do whatever you need to do to get through it!!

happymummy12345 · 13/05/2019 01:17

I put on 10kg throughout my pregnancy.

TheLazyDuchess · 13/05/2019 01:48

I'd put on about a stone, the last time I weighed myself before ds was born (almost full term). I was the same weight after having him than I was before I found out I was pregnant. He was only 5.3 lbs though.

that *than

3 lb so far at 17 weeks, but only put on 10lb total on with my 1 year old boy, he was only a 6lb and I was tiny throughout. Feel bigger this time round ( my 3rd)
I wouldn’t worry how much you put on, everyone is so different.
I put on 4 stone with my daughter ( she’s now 14 years) I was only 22 and think I thought I should be eating for about 5 lol

YesimstillwatchingNetflix · 13/05/2019 04:16

I put on 9kgs total in my last pregnancy.

All women vary in what is a healthy weight gain. What does your doctor say?

NowWeAreSuckingDiesel · 13/05/2019 05:01

I put on 3 stone on my last pregnancy. Lost it and more within 5 months of having her. I wouldn't worry.

Andrea91 · 13/05/2019 07:10

I'm 20 weeks plus size up until last week I've been losing weight. But midwife advised me that from now on should start putting on.

MyHomey · 13/05/2019 07:50

Thank you everyone that's really helpful. I still feel I'm at the higher end of the scale, but will try not to worry.
My MW hasn't actually weighed or measured me since the first time I went (at ten weeks), and because I'm generally quite small (size 8, started at 8st9) and haven't put much weight on outside my belly, no ones mentioned any concern. Perhaps I'm just going to have a HUGE baby!! Shock
I'll raise it with her at my next visit. Thanks again!

I'm the same 22 weeks and put on 1st 4lbs. Size 8-10 pre-pregnancy, I go to the gym around 4 times a week as well and have done throughout.

I've mentioned it at every midwife app and they all say if you're eating balanced meals its fine. They also said that every woman's weight gain is really different, some pile it on at the start and then just maintain - others pack it on more towards the end. I had one midwife just tell me to stop weighing myself and eat well. I've a tenancy to binge on chocolate and junk food so have joined SW to help reign that in.

TwittleBee · 13/05/2019 16:04

There are those weight gain calculators that some apps use or you can google to find them, they give you a rough idea. I've put on a stone at 22 weeks from pre pregnancy weight (size 6/8 here). I am trying hard not to obsess about weight but it is hard, especially how much I gained with my first pregnancy and how it was hard to lose.

Interestingly it is MH week this week and this year's focus is body image.

firstimemamma · 13/05/2019 16:10

I'd put on 1 stone by the time I was TEN weeks pregnant and was advised this is healthy! If a healthcare professional has also advised you that your gain is healthy then relax! Smile

Mog6840 · 13/05/2019 16:30

I think that sounds fine. Do one of the online calculators. I think you will find that's perfectly normal. Don't stress. I'm 26 weeks and have put in 13 pounds and I suffered severe pregnancy sickness which meant my bmi dropped to underweight at the start of my pregnancy and I have to have extra growth scans because if it.

Prequelle · 13/05/2019 16:31

It depends on of you were a healthy weight before too tbh. I'm 16 weeks at have put on 3kg as of yesterday. I need to slow that down as I'm now 69kg at 5 foot 4

katmarie · 14/05/2019 11:23

During my first pregnancy my midwife weighed me at the booking in and then never weighed me again, this was with my bmi being over 30. I asked her several times about weight gain (I gained about a stone and a half overall) and she said overall health was more important and and long as the baby was growing well and my bloods weren't coming back showing deficiencies, that was the main thing.

purplemama1990 · 16/05/2019 12:05

At 23 weeks I think I'd put on just over a stone and a half, and now at 32 weeks I've put on 2 and a half stone. Hopefully I don't gain too much on top of that now, but I'm expecting to reach at lease 3 stone probably... I have been eating healthily and healthy amounts, not over eating in any way, and I'm keeping active and exercising regularly, but I'm still gaining weight like crazy. I think it's normal that different women gain weight differently throughout their pregnancies.

Lisalou88 · 16/05/2019 12:37

I’m almost 20 weeks and put on around 7lbs so far. I do admit I have been eating a bit too much so expected to have gained more but I’m going to start eating a bit healthier now as I know you gain weight more quickly in the second half of pregnancy and don’t want to gain too much.
