hi i had my baby boy on sat and midwife suggested using infacol to help wind but it doesnt seem to help, does it work on your little ones? if not what else can i use?

IF you're bfding you drink it.

If you're ffding then make it, cool it and you can give it direct to the baby.

sometimes its just a case of finding the right winding position for your baby, you can try,

sat upright on your lap, cup their chin in your hand and tilt the head upwards, this stretches the wind pipe and pulls it straight to let trapped wind out.

rub his back in a circle too

try putting him up to your shoulder, but hold him higher and lay his arms over the top of your shoulder and rub and pat his back. again this also gives the wind pipe more room.

i sympathise, at night feeds, it sometimes would take dd half an hour to do one tiny burp, she would never settle until she had brought something up, infacol didn't really help either.

a friend used coleif (sp?), you can get it in th chemist over the counter but its a bit pricey.

I used colief (sp again!)
it worked for our ds who screamed from 6pm-10pm everynight.

Was about £10 for quite a small pot but you only use drops of it.

infacol did work for us but it took 4 or 5 weeks before it started working - I think it takes a little while for their digestive systems to get going.

dentinox is also v good.....i used to give it my dd then id rub her back as she was over my shoulder for 5 mins. then id lie across my knee and rub her belly for another five mins...then sit her upright and pat her back, she brought a lot of her wind up this way
