Can't believe I'm pregnant..

Hello
So after being told it is unlikely I'll ever get pregnant because I have hardly no eggs left and those I do have, are bad quality... I found out I'm preggers!

2.5 years ago we did ivf and only got 1.5 eggs... it was unsuccessful and ever since we accepted we wouldn't fall pregnant... until now! We didn't use protection as we have less than 1% chance and after this long didn't think it would ever happen! So unplanned but happy!

I'm very nervous as it's very early... apparently 4-5 weeks as per calculator and I can't go to the look without thinking my period will have come!

Any advice for someone who was not expecting this at all??

Xxx

I think all you can do is try and enjoy the pregnancy as much as possible and have hope. Easy for an internet stranger to say, and I'm well aware that it's hard not to worry in reality. But I really wish you all the best in your pregnancy!

If it’s meant to be it will be .. my friend was going through menopause and told about 5 years prior she Couldn’t conceive due to other complications ... she had her first daughter at 36 years ... and her second daughter at 41 years .. miracles can really happen x x congratulations x x

Folic acid supplements-make sure you're taking them.
Google what you can and can't eat. Lots of free pregnancy apps have a helpful list.
Don't take anything with vitamin A in.

Oh, and congratulations!

ReganSomerset · 11/05/2019 19:08

*As in, don't take non pregnancy multivitamins with vitamin A in. Not advocating avoiding carrots.

MrsMozartMkII · 11/05/2019 19:10

I'll keep everything crossed for you lass.

KC84 · 11/05/2019 19:52

Congratulations! I too have very low AMH (2) and high FSH plus knackered tubes, I had a baby with donor eggs last year after being told I would never have a bio child and DS took 9 years and 5 IVF cycles, I then caught naturally when he was 8 months and I'm due next month, I hope the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly

KC84 · 11/05/2019 20:21

Wow Lauren! That's fantastic!

I stopped diet coke but midwife told me I'd have to drink 14 cans to go over what they class as safe during pregnancy (I don't drink coffee though) and also had hair dyed must have been about 6 weeks pregnant then.

Lauren83 · 11/05/2019 20:24

It's so scary the first few weeks I know, I ended up having blood tests and early private scans it cost a fortune but I couldn't believe it. Our bodies are amazing things!

Wonderful news - to all of you! Loved reading this thread! Xxx

PetraRabbit · 11/05/2019 22:01

KC84- congratulations! So happy for you. Sometimes the body just finds a way with one good egg!
Lauren- that's an amazing story.
My story is much less unusual, as I'm older (43) but have a toddler and knew I could get pg as I had a MMC last year.....but my AMH is 1 and a half, and my follicle count was terrible, plus one of my ovaries looked shrunken on a scan.....3 days later I got a BFP. I'm nearly 10 weeks and hopeful. At my age (not far off 44) you can't take anything for granted but I'm thrilled I got pregnant. Good luck to both of you!

KC84 · 11/05/2019 22:22

PetraRabbit - that's amazing!!! Congratulations!! Gosh this is all so cool!
