i was when i had my DS 5 years ago, although I had lots of contact with his dad (who is now my DH)

It was hard....especially in the early days when DS wasn't feeding properly and there was no-one to hand him over to. Financially it wasn't too bad as I got full tax credits and had saved up loads before coming off on maternity leave.

I wouldn't have missed the experience for the world though...those moments in the wee small hours when its just you and bub who seem to be up.

Make sure you get out and about though and meet other mums and babies as it can be a little bit isolating.
