Painful varicose veins

I have had varicose veins since i was a teenager due to them geing hereditary, gradually getting worse and bigger over the years. I've never had them operated on/removed because apart from being ugly they don't really cause me any issues and I'm not one for 'getting my legs out!. The veins were ok during my first pregnancy (6 years ago) apart from in the last few weeks where they went hard but that went away. I'm now 10 weeks pregnant and the veins are really painful, almost feel like cramp. I think it's because of all the extra blood in my system. Has anyone had something similar and can suggest what I can do to prevent or alleviate the pain please? Thanks.

The best, most supportive support tights you can get- I was prescribed maternity ones with all my pregnancies (they are literally the most un-sexy things you'll ever see, so very effective post-partum contraception Wink). Wear them from when you get up, to going to bed. Try and keep you legs elevated when you sit/lie down.

Theyre so annoying- my varicose veins have decided to grow spider veins this pregnancy. Im only 12 weeks!!
