Hi all,

So I am a huge wine lover and ever since finding out I was pregnant I haven't touched a drop but I really want the taste.

From looking at the non alcoholic wine on Tesco’s website I don’t actually think they are non alcoholic? It says 0.5% ? Yes I get from like 13% to 0.5% is a bit difference but is it safe?

Thanks

It’s fine unless you planning on drinking several bottles a week.

They are safe but taste so bad you are better drinking soft drinks. Some of the beers are ok, Becks Blue

I personally just stick to stuff like Schloeur (sp?) which is sparkling grape juice but does taste nice and does the same job to me at dinner

I liked the rose from Sainsbury's, can't remember anything more specific sorry

After trying Eisberg, Rawsons Retreat etc - from a slimming point of view and I'm a Type 1 diabetic, so they cannot be pure sugar or apple juice-ish, I now like the Sainsbury's taste the difference 0.05% alcohol wines - the Cabernet Sauvignon is lovely and also the Chardonnay- and I don't usually like Chardonnay! They also do Rose, Sauvignon and sparkling, which I must try!
Give one of them a go!

I can't comment on how safe it is, but I do know that the Eisberg stuff I drink is "de-alcoholised" - basically, it is made with alcohol and then the alcohol is removed, which is what causes the tiny percentage of leftover alcohol.

If you do choose to go down that route, the Eisberg wines are lovely and they have all different kinds! Rose is my fave.

I've been drinking this one from Morrison's, it's pretty good.

I also loved loved my wine before I got pregnant. What I did was just switch to ice lemon water or ginger ale. Or ginger tea. I fast got used to this new way. Healthier then drinking empty calories I think.

NicciLovesSundays · 10/05/2019 18:05

Havent had any wine...Nanny State beer from brewdog is nice (0.5%)

HearMeSnore · 10/05/2019 18:16

I quite like Sainsburys Nosecco. It doesn't taste like Prosecco but it's pleasant enough.

Never did get along with Eisberg. When pregnant I generally drank lager shandy made with Cobra Zero. That was pretty palatable.

mrsawhite · 10/05/2019 18:28

My friend recently came over with a bottle of red non alcoholic wine from tescos. I was really impressed!

Orange juice can naturally contain up to 0.5% alcohol.

The Torres Natureo wine is the best of a mediocre bunch!

Teddybear45 · 11/05/2019 07:20

Eisberg’s lovely. Also, Seedlip is a good fake gin if you like it.

HoustonBess · 11/05/2019 07:26

Things like ginger beer have 0.5%, it won't do any harm at all! I'd just have a tiny amount of wine though really rather than mess about, or go for a good juice...

Another thing I've lived is half-half juice and tonic water with a few drops of bitters. Tastes almost like a cocktail but little alcohol (there's a bit in bitters but you only have a tiny amount)

Sjl479 · 11/05/2019 07:37

Bees knees sparkling “wine” is nice and feels quite celebratory as you pop the cork like champagne

Hall84 · 11/05/2019 09:58

Tesco do a 0.5% Freixinet which is a good alternative to sparkling. A lot are super sweet but this is the closest I've found.

ELM8 · 11/05/2019 10:00

This one from Waitrose is lovely and tastes like the real thing. I LOVED my wine before I was pregnant, so had this for the first few weeks so I didn't feel like I was missing out.

Weirdly from about 7 weeks I couldn't stomach the fake stuff and the thought of any type of wine makes me gag. I'm 11 weeks now and haven't had any of the fake stuff as I can't stand the thought of wine.

Maybe it's some sort of defence mechanism from my body as I probably drank too much before if I'm being honest...
