Pregnancy and existing ESA claim. HELP!!

Currently 36 weeks. Have been unable to work for a few years due to severe mental health problems. Didn’t think I’d need to inform DWP but not sure if that was a mistake. Just read something about a transfer to income support.

Do my benefits change over? Anyone know if it will be the same amount of money? Any other info?

Please help, even google not helpful!!

As far as I know you can stay on ESA whilst you’re still deemed unfit for work due to your health issues. The pregnancy doesn’t affect things, but do let them know so they can update your records. A quick call to them will clear things up.

No there are no IS claims anyway. It’s fine to stay on ESA you do not need to inform them.

Do you receive tax credits?

If you receive the severe disability payment then you can make a new tax credit claim once baby is born. If not will have to be UC.

Call ESA and ask what to do. They will tell you if/ when you need to change your claim but having baby won't effect the work capability decision
