Hi guys, worrying myself silly. I am 3 weeks pregnant and have had cramps nearly for 3 weeks which i did think was my period making an appearance. However over the last two days it's just been awful cramping and backache like terrible period pain. Iv had no spotting or anything. Taken two pregnancy tests and both show 3 weeks. Just have myself wound up that something could be wrong. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you for reading

To add to these I literally finished my pill and didn't get a natural period after... as It happened super quick which is also worrying me. TIA

Yes I had horrible back pain and sharp cramping in my bum area almost immediately after my BFP. It still comes and goes. Keep an eye on it. Take paracetamol. If it gets so bad it takes your breath away then definitely speak to your GP / Midwife

Was it a digital test? You’d be 5 weeks pregnant then

Thanks for your reply! Really needed the reassurance. My tummy is just massive I already feel 4 months pregnant with it being so bloated! Lol. Yes it was a digital one it said on Monday 2-3 weeks? Xx

Hey OP. I think you mean you’re five weeks pregnant :)

Don’t want to worry you but having cramps for the whole three weeks and now increasingly severe cramping/backache could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy, which requires medical attention ASAP as it can be dangerous if left untreated (the baby would be nonviable). Have a look at this www.nhs.uk/conditions/ectopic-pregnancy/symptoms/

If you recognise some of the symptoms ring your local early pregnancy assessment unit or get an emergency GP appt for a referral, at five weeks they can scan you internally and check for signs of a pregnancy in your uterus. If they can’t see anything in there like a gestational sac the embryo may have implanted in a Fallopian tube and if left it can rupture the tube so you lose it, and it can also be fatal to you.

It could just be normal cramping but if it’s been consistent for three weeks and is getting even worse and hurting your back too I would act on this now. Better safe than sorry.

Abdominal bloating and fullness is also a sign of ectopic pregnancy, just wasn’t listed on that NHS link.

I’m sorry to worry you but if it’s severe enough to have posted her asking advice it’d be remiss not to let you know that this is something you should be considering. Please come back and let us know all is well when you can :(
