Experiences of implantation bleeding

Hi All

I’m on CD26 and think I’m 11dpo. AF is due in about a week.

I think we dtd twice in my fertile period (I think - was first month using OPKs so could be slightly wrong on ov day)

Yesterday evening I had some pink in my CM when wiping then had some browny CM. This morning had some pinky CM and then browny again, all only when wiping.

I have cramps too which feel like period pains although I don’t think unusually get pains before af arrives.

So I’m thinking this is either implantation bleeding or early AF.

I am usually regular and don’t have any spotting. I had a full term stillbirth in February so it’s possible my cycle is a bit messed up but everything has been quite regular even since then and I haven’t had any other spotting except day before AF.

I didn’t have any spotting early in my first pregnancy.

I’m hoping it’s a BFP for me but I know this could be wishful thinking.

I meant I don’t think I usually get cramps before my period arrives IIRC

I had IB with my DD, exactly as you described. Wasn't a lot was very light but it was obvious when wiped after loo! Stopped after maybe two days wasn't consistent 24/7 just here and there, then I tested about 5 days after and had a positive :) you never know! Good luck.

So sorry about your stillbirth Alice Flowers

I'm experiencing something similar. We're not actually TTC yet (meant to be waiting to July for TTC number 2 but had my implant out last month.) DTD twice this month either side of my fertile window with withdrawal method. AF due in a few days but last 3 mornings I've had pink when I wipe. I had similar in my first pregnancy - thought AF was coming but she never did and it was IB. I'm torn between not wanting to be pregnant again yet, but also a bit excited that I might be. Are you going to test?

wineymummy · 09/05/2019 12:24

Should add that if I am, I will be annoyed not to have made the most of the opportunity to drink - June is earmarked as Drinkallthewine Month.

@petxls Thank you. Sounds promising!

@wineymumm Thank you. If you were going to try in July, getting BFP now wouldn’t be that much sooner? Are you going to test?

Initially I thought we should wait a bit longer after our DD but then I think I ovulated earlier than I expected so we actually dtd for the first time after the birth and it turned out I was basically fertile then and I’d think I’ve been fortunate if I got pregnant straight away but then I’m just assuming the worst after what happened and worrying I’ll never have a living child (dramatic maybe)

I don’t know if it’s too early to test for me? I have some Boots tests from when I got pregnant around this time last year but I got a BFN when I tested early and and only got a BFP after AF was late

Also had sore boobs last time and don’t this time but then not all pregnancies are the same I suppose...

I will test in a couple of days but I think it will probably be AF. Yes it wouldn't be a bad thing to get a BFP now, but would like to avoid another January birthday (poor DD is early January and it's such a rubbish time) and we also want her getting the free childcare hours before the next baby.

I remember NCT saying that if you breastfed, your body goes into natural contraceptive mode, because you need to provide for your baby. But if you didn't, your body assumes that the baby died, therefore goes into super fertile mode to make a new one. Sorry if that sounds a little crass, I don't mean to be insensitive about your DD. So I guess that's what's happened with you if it is a BFP? I have my fingers crossed for you. I think you should test! It's natural to worry but please try not to - keep your rational head on if possible - what happened last time was an awful tragedy but doesn't mean it will affect your future babies xx

AliceRR · 09/05/2019 13:02

Thanks for your kind words @wineymummy

I know what you mean about my body knowing I don’t have my baby. I think that’s true. My PP bleeding stopped and my first period came in less than a month after the birth (which I think is early) and everything seems quite regular apart from whatever this bleeding.

I hope you get your BFP when you are ready too xx

Thank you Alice. I'm going to get some tests this afternoon just in case. I'm sure it's psychosomatic but since getting this pink when I wipe, I'm totally symptom spotting. Feeling a bit queasy, really sensitive to smell, constantly tired (but that's nothing new!) Anyway I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, you deserve this BFP.

AliceRR · 09/05/2019 17:33

Thanks again @wineymummy

I have more actual red blood now but still only when wiping. Makes me think it is more likely to be af albeit early

We’ll see 🙄

Well I tested and BFN and then AF arrived. 27 day cycle but usually 30 days so a bit earlier than expected but nothing drastic. Head says this is for the best, heart is a little disappointed. Let me know what happens for you

AliceRR · 10/05/2019 12:02

Sorry you are disappointed @wineymummy It’s so easy to get excited but then maybe you can stick to your original plan

I don’t know what’s going on with me still.

Spotting started Wednesday evening and is still there. Its been pink, brown and red but just about only on wiping so far.

I feel like it’s going to get heavier. Your period was a few days earlier so mine could be too 🤷🏻‍♀️ but my hopes are up X

So sorry to hear about your baby. Must have been horrendous. Have you checked with Dr if your allowed to carry again so early or does body need to recover?
I had implantation bleeding at 6 weeks and was literally for one day. Little bit of pink on a few wipes and nothing since.

AliceRR · 10/05/2019 19:20

@nickyXjayno Thank you. GP said ok as soon as I feel ready and bereavement midwife and midwife said the same. I had planned to wait til third cycle but we just happened to dtd for first time since first baby this month and it was in my fertile week.

Bleeding had got heavier today so I think it probably is early AF bit I’ve been quite regular since the birth and have had strange symptoms. I’m not completely ruling out pregnancy but I don’t think I am now (think it was wishful thinking!)

Ah right good news then that if you do fall pregnant your not too poorly physically. Fingers crossed everything falls into place for you soon x

AliceRR · 10/05/2019 20:07

Thank you x
