6lb 4oz. Was in tiny baby then 0-1 month for a few weeks. Was in 0-3 until he was 5 months but he struggled to gain weight for a few weeks

Rarfy · 09/05/2019 10:05

6lb 13oz first size up until about 10 weeks then 0-3 and I have just washed all her 3-6 clothes now at 17weeks and about 12-13lb.

cookiechomper · 09/05/2019 10:08

I wouldn't buy tiny baby size unless you're expecting a small baby or going to come early. I bought mainly 0 to 3 months and a few newborn.

Lost5stone · 09/05/2019 10:08

DD was 10lb6 and 60cm. Managed to get her into newborn for about a week (probably would have been longer but I think they shrunk in the wash)

user27495824 · 09/05/2019 10:12

All were full term.
Number 1: 6lb 7, early baby and tiny baby, (newborn was too big)
Number 2: 7lb, newborn, (tiny baby was too small)
Number 3: 8lb 10 newborn for at least a couple of weeks.

I'd definitely recommend newborn. They are so cheap to get and it's very unusual for a baby to fit straight in to 0-3.

8lb5 DD and she was swamped in newborn. Had to get tiny baby! I assume she's made of muscle!

Nuttyaboutnutella · 09/05/2019 10:18

We bought some unisex stuff in up to 1m. My son was 8lb4oz and only fit into it for a couplw of weeks but he was very long (he's in some 3-4 at 26 months!) We out him in 0-3 very early in.

My SIL had a baby last week and baby was 6lb despite being overdue (didn't smoke or anything) so was scrambling to get tiny baby as the bigger stuff is drowning her.

butterwithtoast · 09/05/2019 10:19

My babies were 8lb 1oz and 7lb 7oz and both were fine in newborn sleepsuits. They moved into up to 1 month and 0-3m from about 3 weeks.

desparate4sleep · 09/05/2019 10:21

7lb12 she was in newborn for 2 months. 0-3 were massive.

ShutTheFridgeUp · 09/05/2019 10:22

7lb 2oz and the newborn stuff I took was too small. He was in up to 1 month stuff for a few weeks before moving to 0-3

Angelinthenightx · 09/05/2019 10:44

Had prem babies so prem clothes when they got out of hospital others from 5lbs -6lbs was tiny baby none of mine were in newborn for a while,so id say a bit of both unless they say your baby is going to be big .

PlinkPlink · 09/05/2019 10:54

8lb 5oz

Newborn or 0-3 months

Miss those cute little outfits 🙈

happymummy12345 · 09/05/2019 11:01

My baby weighed 6lb 7oz. We got newborn (up to 10lb) for the hospital. We got the bare minimum we needed, because we knew that once the baby was born we could go and get more in either pink or blue, and we'd know what we needed. After the birth we got size tiny baby (up to 7lb 5oz), and even they were a bit long.

AhhhHereItGoes · 09/05/2019 11:01

Newborn and then 0 - 3 at around 2 weeks I think?

One was 6lbs 4oz
Other 6lbs 15oz

AhhhHereItGoes · 09/05/2019 11:02

3 weeks even.

GMtoBe · 09/05/2019 11:12

DD was 7lb 4oz and although the 0-3 month stuff was big on her it fit fine within 2 weeks. Buying newborn or tiny baby stuff for literally a few wears just seemed like a massive waste to me!

Annabel28 · 09/05/2019 12:35

Our growth scans predicted an 8lb baby... He was 6lb at 41 weeks! We only bought 0-3 stuff as we thought newborn would be a waste but in the end my husband had to make an emergency trip to the shops to buy newborn wear as 0-3 drowned my son. The hospital put him in their own clothes in the interim (he was in HDU for 3 days due to breathing issues).

Stormwhale · 09/05/2019 12:38

7lb8oz and she was in newborn and quickly moved into up to 1 month. She was very long and skinny though.

Pythonesque · 09/05/2019 13:03

8 lb something and 9 lb something here; we only ever had a couple of things (given to us) in newborn size and they were hardly used, 0-3 was fine from the start.

I would think it was normally reasonable to get newborn and 0-3 mth stuff. If you are tall (or there is a family history of big babies), then don't bother with newborn unless you are given it. Tiny baby stuff I'd only get in advance if you have good reason to think you'll need it.

YummyPdicg · 09/05/2019 13:04

6lb 15, tiny baby

AxCap · 09/05/2019 13:16

1 - 3lb 14oz so in preemie 3lb. At about 2.5 months he was just fitting in to up to 1 month

2 - 6lb 3oz - tiny baby to start with and for a week or so as he actually lost weight. Since about 2/3 weeks he's then consistently been a size ahead as he's a giant

TerriB1984 · 09/05/2019 15:55

My DD was 9lb 7 and was too big for newborn size. 0-1M was perfect but I didn’t have much in that size so she mostly wore 0-3M. We did get a lot of wear out of it though as she was in some things until 5ish months

Pipandmum · 09/05/2019 16:01

10 lbs 4oz At 37 weeks it was a heatwave he didn’t wear much more than a t shirt! I think 3-6 months clothes though he was so big.
Daughter 9lbs 14oz At 38 weeks same. Mostly onesies both babies until about six month then my son became a fashionista which still continues (he’s 15 now).

Tootyfrooty35 · 09/05/2019 16:19

11lb10... He's wearing a 6-12m zipped onesie today 😂 at one month old and around 14/15lb.
He still fits 0-3 but 3-6is better, I just can't admit it! I stick a pair of socks over onesies so keep them in better, mine aren't particularly long so don't need the leg length, just the girth 😂
My last was 11lb5 and similar... Squeezed him into 0-1 but 0-3 was better.

Ccec · 09/05/2019 18:41

DS and DD 6lb 8 and 6lb 10, both in tiny baby for a couple of weeks. DS was predicted to be big so only ever brought 0-3 stuff and had to go out and buy things when he was born, with DD luckily somebody had given me a massive bundle of mostly tiny baby/newborn clothes and I was worried she wouldn't fit into them as I carried her to nearly term.
I'd learnt from the first time though and took one outfit of tiny baby/newborn and 0-3 so I had everything covered 🙂
