Hi everyone I am 7weeks today from my LMP , I had a reassurance scan today which measured me as 6w exactly - saw a heartbeat and everything looked good. Why am I showing 1 week behind? Kind of stressed out

Did they give you a heart rate?

PrayingandHoping · 08/05/2019 17:52

It's not accurate at that stage. You may catch up some time. Also possible you ovulated later

codenameduchess · 08/05/2019 17:55

It's really hard to measure that early, i had an early scan after a bleed and they said it could be 5 days either way, so I was either 5 and a bit or 7 weeks.
As long as there's a heartbeat at a normal rate I wouldn't worry

Pipandmum · 08/05/2019 17:56

You are going to drive yourself insane. It’s a range - there’s no absolutes.

Justincase87 · 08/05/2019 18:09

I ovulate on day 23 of a 32 day cycle so I'm exactly a week behind what my LMP date should be - date of ovulation can have an impact on your actual dates - I'm now 29 weeks and all scans etc have been consistent with my ovulation dates

GinevraWeasley · 08/05/2019 18:13

I had IVF so knew exactly how many weeks and days I was and still measured 4 days out, it's just so small at that stage

QuaintDuck · 08/05/2019 18:18

With DD2 I knew the date she was conceived. At all scans she was always 9 days behind. I wouldn't worry.

Went for an early scan knowing I was bang on 8 weeks from my LMP and have 28 cycles. They dated me 8 days behind at 6+6.
Had another early scan as was worried at what I knew should be 11 weeks and they dated me the same so had caught up and then 12 week scan also confirmed my original dates. 16+3 now

bobble53 · 08/05/2019 18:56

I had an early scan at 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat, they measured me as 5 which I knew wasn’t right because we saw a heartbeat. Googling it scared the life out of me so I paid for a private scan at 8 weeks and baby had more a less caught up then and I was only 2/3 days behind. Don’t worry :)

BellaBellaBelle · 08/05/2019 21:27

With my dd I had a scan at what should have been 12 weeks according to dates but she was actually 10 weeks. I must have ovulated really late!

glitterbomb13 · 09/05/2019 07:18

Thanks everyone! No they didn't give my the actual heart rate but I was so reassured to see it's flickering away

@glitterbomb13 you probably ovulated late Smile. I had an early scan where my lmp dated me at 6+6 but it was actually 6+0 with a heartbeat (I knew this to be 100% correct as I tracked my ovulation with opks and temping). Things will sort themselves out a little later. Unfortunately I had a mmc at 8+1 but was in the same position as you so please don't worry.

PugPupsMum · 09/05/2019 11:43

Agree with PP, it could catch up. If not, you just ovulated a bit later than you thought but nothing to worry about.

I was dated 6 days later than my EDD by LMP at my private scan (at 8 weeks, or 7 going by their dates), but then at my 12 week scan I was 2 days ahead. It really is just a range.

The 12 week scan is the most accurate on and this is the one the NHS will go by.
