So far I count Pamina, Janus, Robbie, Harrysmum and any others I might have missed, with apologies. Anyone fancy comparing fatigue/nausea/giant varicose veins etc on this thread, to take the refresh-time pressure off mums-to-be 2?
I felt some flutters this week, which was wonderful, and also heard the heartbeat properly for the first time. I'm due 8th Jan.

Hi everyone! I have to say that so far I think I've been rather lucky. I have had no nausea or ill effects, apart from the tiredness which has now more or less gone (oh, and a DVT at 10 weeks!) I've had a nuchal scan and a 16 week scan, and that's it until the baby's born - I'm due 11 Jan. I wasn't sure if I'd felt the baby kicking or if it was just wind ... but managed to convince myself it was the baby! I've heard the heartbeat a couple of times, the latest being yesterday, and it's coming through loud and clear, which is really reassuring.

Hope everyone else is doing OK and look forward to comparing notes!

Hi, I am due somewhere between 5 and 9 January. Definite kicks this week for the first time and now movements throughout the day which is lovely. Dh has been able to feel them as well so he's very chuffed! 20 week scan a week on Monday - torn between looking forward to it and worrying about everything being ok. Dying to know it it's a boy or a girl. Other than that, more tired than I thought I would be, nausea & vomiting now rare but not completely gone, still find some smells difficult but all in all well and happy.

Hello fellow mums to be - I'm just over 12 weeks and very sick - almost been admitted twice and feeling a bit down about it. I was sick until week 20 with baby number 1 - now 16 months so a while left to go yet. Getting annoyed about being told if I'd waited until April I'd be getting so much more maternity pay!! Best laid plans and all that! Good luck to us all.

I'm due Jan 31st and all's well so far. Not sure how many weeks that makes me though!

I'm newly pregnant about 8 weeks I think so havent even seen the midwife yet. I'm absolutly shattered but nothing much else to tell - for now keep you posted and congratulations and good luck to everyone else.

OK, add me to the list! Due 11th March 2003! Had the most amazing nuchal scan yesterday evening - perhaps it was because I was paying for it, but the consultant was excellent and pointed out everything, from our baby's tiny fingers to his toes. Came back with four beautiful pictures and a very low risk level. Saw his/her heartbeating away and even got to listen to it. Fantastic.

No sickness to speak of, but I've had a horrible taste in my mouth for about 5 weeks now. Only constant eating seems to keep it at bay. Hoping that will pass now I've hit the 12 week mark.

Haven't told ds1 yet he's going to have a little brother or sister. He can't wait for tomorrow let alone next March, so I might leave it as long as possible. Boy, is he going to be in for a shock! He's 3 and used to our undivided attention!

Hughsie · 29/08/2002 11:03

Congratulations EmmaB - that scan sounds brilliant especially so early on. I'm due 24th Feb and my sickness is finally showing signs of going and I'm managing to keep some food down. Ds1 is only 17 months so wouldn't understand anyway - he is going to be in for a shock though. Is it just me or is it completely different second time around. I remember religiously monitoring every stage in the Miriam bible for the 1st one but this time it is just passing me by. Too busy with ds1 I suppose.

Harrysmum · 29/08/2002 14:35

Congratulations EmmaM! I had my 20 week scan on Monday and everything is as it should be (as far as they can tell) so a huge relief. Can't remember where Scummymummy was doing her predictions but this seems to be another boy - so much for my maternal conviction that he was a girl!
