Light brown discharge 1 week and 6 days after BFP???

Hi,

I am really looking for some reassurance on my situation...
I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago. However, for the last day I've experienced very small amounts of light brown discharge and slightly achey in lower abdomen/back. No severe cramping though.
Is it possible for this to be implantation bleeding, even though I would have implanted around the time of my BFP 2 weeks ago? Or is this likely to be something else? Been so worried, so would really appreciate hearing anyone else's story who has experience the same thing!

Forgot to add, I am 5 weeks pregnant and the discharge and mild aching started yesterday

I had some pink discharge on wiping around 4/5 weeks. Healthy scan at 6 weeks & just waiting on my 12 week scan this afternoon.

I think at this early stage it's hard to tell (sorry I know it's not that reassuring to hear!) but it's more common than you think to get that kind of discharge and mild cramps is also fairly normal.

Try rest up and see how you feel.

I had this a couple of weeks ago and it stressed me out too! I'm currently 9+5 so this was when I was about 7 weeks preggers. It was like the worst period pain ever for about 5-10 mins or so and then it'd die down.
I told the midwife at my first appt and she seemed completely nonplussed and said that it's probably due to uterus stretching etc and old blood (brown-ish is old).
Keep an eye on it, but unless the blood is really red then you should be just going through stretching pains. Have you had your first midwife appt yet?

Midwife said something quite interesting - she said 'no-one ever talks about the weird crap painful bits of being pregnant apart from actually giving birth' which I took to mean that there may well be other pains to come, basically!!

Hope it all dies down soon for you :) x

I had the nasty brown blood , it was really scary at the time. DS is 20 now, everything was fine

Unfortunately mine was a bad sign and I miscarried several days later x

@LauraLooDerby thank you for the reassurance! I haven't yet had my first midwife appointment. I have an early scan privately booked for when I am 7+5. Tempted to see if they'll change the appointment so that I can have it earlier. But I know I'll freak out if the heartbeat isn't detected. So may be best to wait.
How long do you think I should allow this to go on for before I see a doctor? Or is brown discharge and aching just to be expected in early pregnancy?
That's a really interesting point that your midwife made. Maybe if more people spoke of the little niggly aches and pains, rather than just childbirth, we might all feel better prepared. Thank you again for the reassurance!

Thanks @Mintypea5 it does seem that light bleeding is relatively common during very early pregnancy. I think I'll see how it goes over the next few days. If it doesn't subside by Friday (my day off) then I'll book to see a doctor or my midwife

Hey @leclarke91 how are you doing now? Just checking in!

leclarke91 · 13/05/2019 15:21

Hi @LauraLooDerby thank you for your message! The spotting subsided. Still have mild cramps on and off. Nausea has really kicked in, so I'm taking that as a good sign. I have an early scan booked for 2 Sundays time when I will be nearly 8 weeks 😊

Oh good! Well - obvs not super good with the nausea etc but kind of good?! Fingers crossed all goes well with the scan Smile xx

leclarke91 · 14/05/2019 15:45

Thanks @LauraLooDerby I did a pregnancy test and it still definitely says I am pregnant, so hopefully that means the spotting really was nothing to worry about. I'll let you know how scan goes 😃 x

Hey @leclarke91 how are you doing? Just popped up and thought I'd see how you're getting on?

leclarke91 · 21/08/2019 19:44

@LauraLooDerby Hey! I'm really good, thank you for asking 😃 I'm now 21+1 today and expecting a healthy baby girl on New Year's Eve. The bleeding got worse over a few weeks. I ended up in A+E after passing bright red clots. Then had an an anxious over night wait to be seen at EPU. Baby was all fine, heartbeat was detected. I continued to bleed for another week. But then it suddenly just stopped. I have a couple of fibroids but was told that they weren't likely to have caused the bleeding. Just something and nothing really 😊 how are you?
