Hello,

Has anyone had GD in pregnancy but not in subsequent pregnancies?

I had it with DC1 but I'm hoping not with DC2 so I'm looking for some positive stories where it doesn't happen again. Was over weight with DC1 but hoping not with DC2

I had it with DS1 but haven't had it with DS2 (currently pregnant). I was adamant that I would get it again though, but I've passed both GTTs!

Oh great news! Did anything change for you between pregnancy? (Perhaps weight wise as I know that's a factor)

Not really, I had a really high BMI with both of them Blush I also had high blood pressure with DS1 but it's been perfect this time, I guess it's just down to hormones and a bit of luck!

I had it first pregnancy with my son, but not in my second pregnancy with my daughter. I weighed the same and was doing the same amount of exercise between and in both pregnancies. Goodluck x

I had it in both pregnancies, BUT between pregnancies the fasting blood sugar level that defined diabetes was lowered. If it hadn’t been lowered then I wouldn’t have had it as my results were better.

As you already know, the main points are to do light exercise after food and keep away from sweets and refined carbs. Chasing DC1 around was probably a factor in keeping my levels down second time around.
