Newbie here and its my 1st post. Bit of a long story found out we were having another baby came as a bit of a shock as my daughter is only 5 months old. That very same evening I started to bleed was seen at EPU a few days later (28.04) who said I was miscarrying and they would take some bloods to make sure my hcg levels were dropping. I get a call to say they were 1900 so need to repeat in 48 hours those bloods came back and were 2954 so I was confused as I'm still bleeding and quite heavy. They invite me in I have another scan (03.05) and clear as day there is a yolk sack on the screen so they confirm my pregnancy. Head nurse has apologised and said I should have never been told I was miscarrying or it have been put in my notes, I'm ok human error. I have another scan on 19.05 to confirm viability but my worry is I'm still bleeding 😔 has anybody been in a similar situation and had a healthy bag at, I'm stressing myself at the moment and to top if off we move in 4 weeks and get married in 6 so a LOT is going on.

@csmw My mum bled all the way through with my Dsis, shes healthy. Did they not see were the bleeding was coming from on the scan?

csmw · 06/05/2019 15:27

@HJWT no they didn't say just apologised for confusion and booked me for another scan. tbh I didn't even think to ask I was so shocked.

@csmw when I had a bleed with DD they could see it inside my cervix with DS (still pregnant) I had two bleeds and they couldn't find were either came from! So hopefully if they haven't mentioned it then its not a bleed in the cervix

Fingers crossed I'll ask them at the next scan. I have the scan next Friday the wait is going to kill me though

I bled on and off for the whole of the first trimester. Sometimes heavily and sometimes just spotting. Like you, I was told I'd lost the baby but they were thankfully mistaken and I am currently 32 weeks pregnant.

I know it's so much easier said than done but try not to worry and take care of yourself.

Good luck OP x

I bled for a week when I was 5-6 weeks pregnant. It was like a period. I put myself on pelvic rest until the bleeding stopped and then a week after. Didn't wear tampons only pads. I called EPU and they said they would scan me at 8 weeks. I had had a MMC last year so was terrified I was losing the baby.

The bleeding did stop, and I am now 24 weeks with a healthy little sprout in my belly.

Take each day as it comes. Good luck xx

Thank you JBCG & Mondayblues7 it's so scary and I'm trying my best to rest as much as I can.
The not knowing is the hardest, even though my daughter is young we want another baby as me and my partner have an 18 & 19 y/o between us so want one closer in age for our daughter to grow with. x

@csmw My best friend had a very similar experience with 2/3 of her pregnancies. They told her the first time that she was miscarrying but she wasn't. No further reason for the bleeding was found!

I just thought of mine as my body dispelling what it didn't need. You need to take it easy though. No lifting, no sexy time, no strenuous activity.

Hope it works out for you OP x
