How many weeks were you? I don't plan to breast feed so it's annoying it's here already Confused

I've been able to hand express a few drops of colostrum since about 20 weeks, but am now 35 weeks and not leaking anything.

Mature milk coming in is very different and only happens after birth - last time it was between day 2-3 for me.

I didn't have a drop until I was in labour. Then I couldn't bf as there just wasn't enough to sustain the baby. Managed 10 wks though.

It's all about getting the latch right

Milk comes in around 3 days PP. Colostrum generally started leaking in the third trimester but not very much at all, just the odd dot on my top here and there.

Falafel19 · 06/05/2019 17:49

Didn't get a drop until I hand expressed when dc1 was 12 hours old in special care. It's hardly that big a deal/annoyance, just get some breast pads.

Bere111 · 06/05/2019 18:21

I used to notice small amounts of colostrum from about 37weeks

Cookit · 06/05/2019 19:11

I think technically colostrum is produced a lot earlier than most people will know about, I can’t remember what week. Some will leak and some won’t.
Your milk can’t “come in” as mature milk until after the baby as the placenta being delivered is what starts the process.

I'm 24 weeks and I have been leaking drops for roughly 3 weeks
