Hi all, I’ve just joined mumsnet.

I’m 5+6 today but after going for a wee this morning I had some dark red/brownish when I wiped! I’ve been having some light cramping on and off for past week, but no different to what I’ve had in previous pregnancies (I have 2 boys from previous relationship, 10 & 6). I’m so worried as I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks last July and it’s taken us all this time to conceive again (I’m 40 this year and my partner has low sperm count).
Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same, and just wanting to talk to someone really as feeling so sad and worried at the thought of this happening again. In my previous miscarriage I had really strong cramping that started in the afternoon and by the evening I was bleeding heavily, so I guess this is different - but time will tell.
Thanks if you’ve read this far and sorry for the long post. Smile

Hi @JosieK79 if you are worried I would say to call your doctors you may be too early for them to do any form of scan but they can do blood tests to check your hcg levels are still all ok. Fingers crossed for you we had an early miscarriage in 2017 at 5+3 weeks & it's took us until now to fall again currently at 6+3 weeks but don't think the fear or worry will leave me for a while xx

Thanks @Aims4488 - it must have just been implantation as it didn't get any worse and after that one time there was nothing. It's just hard not to be paranoid after a loss, as you well understand. I wish you all the best with your pregnancy and thanks again for your reply.

@JosieK79 Really pleased to hear you have had nothing more. I ended up over the hospital today after severe cramping & small amount of bleeding and they were fantastic scanned me and i saw babys heart flickering away. Dont be afraid to go if you need reassurance as I say they were lovely, I wish you a happy & healthy pregnancy too xx

Hey, don't want to reassure too much as this will be my first child, but I'm 9+3 and have had spotting or bleeding now on 5 occasions since BFP. I've had two scans and baby fine on both occasions. So although it's terrifying and unsettling, for me it seems to be normal. Never lasts long or is a large amount.

@Aims4488 Sorry to hear that but so pleased scan has showed a healthy heartbeat x

@agteacht Thanks, i has bleeding with both my boys but after a miscarriage it's hard not to worry and fear the worst. We might even pay for an early scan privately to put my mind at rest. All the best with pregnancy and motherhood x
