5weeks pregnant and bleeding

Hi all, I’ve only just found out I’m pregnant so very early days but the last day or so am experiencing lower belly cramps, lower back pain and some light bleeding ( brown and then red and stringy - excuse the graphics).
I’m not registered in any hospital yet, do I just go to A&E or just wait few days?
My last pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at 10wks but it was a silent miscarriage that got found out during a scan and after I already had maternity notes etc

Thanks for any advice!

Sorry to hear that. I was the same, had a miscarriage in my first pregnancy and then bled early in my second (26 weeks pregnant now). I called 111 and they got an out of hours GP to call me back and refer me to the early pregnancy unit in my hospital. They did a scan there to confirm heartbeat (might be too early for that at 5 weeks though, but still worth talking to them). Your GP can refer you directly too.

Good luck xxx

I agree, ring for gp appointment, they will send you to EPU, hopefully it’s nothing to worry about as some people do bleed but it’s better to get checked out. I hope everything is ok xx 🙏🏻

Hi OP unfortunately I had that last week at 5 weeks and it ended in miscarriage - with it being bank holiday you may not get in to see an EPU until Tuesday at the earliest and I know from experience mine won't scan you at less than 6 weeks whether you're having bleeding or not unless you have a history of ectopics (although I had a ruptured ectopic last year my hospital still wouldn't scan me at 5 weeks when I had bleeding last week) as they really can't see/do anything at this point
🤞🤞your bleeding is nothing to worry about x

Hi OP, call your local EPU, I've just been to mine today. The one here still opens regardless of weekends and bank holidays. I'm sure it's nothing but cramps with bleeding should be looked at
