Completely normal - half think it’s so you’re prepared for the first few weeks of no sleep too....

My little man is the same, it can be 4am before I get to sleep and I've 3 other little ones who are up by 6am 😴😴. I hope you manage to get some rest soon Mama xx

When you move around turning the day you are rocking your baby to sleep so when you go to bed they wake up. Your baby will be in the same nocturnal pattern when they are born.

I know it's normal but I don't fall asleep till like 4 am n wake up super late and I don't work so I sit around my house if I'm not cleaning or doing Landry etc I just sit n chill out yet she's sooooo active at night

Hate to say this but at my ante natal class they told us that the baby is likely to have the same pattern out of the womb as it does in the womb...haven't had mine yet so not sure if this is true or not!!

@ryanreynolds - this was the case for my LO! He was most active around 3am - which is when he was born, and always seemed to want to party at that time. Even now, if he gets up for the odd night feed, it's 3am.

My little one use to kick away during the night and be awake between 1-4am... he’s 8 weeks now and still has that pattern 🤣

DH used to complain when I was pregnant with DD2 that he couldn't sleep because the bed was jiggling and she moved so much 😦

@username198817 argh then I've got a night owl too then, although quietens down at about 1am!

This was me, other than he was continually on the move regardless of the time of day and I wondered when he slept. I even called the triage in the third trimester as it got to the stage where I was wondering if he was in distress as there was so much movement. He was fine! He's now 9 weeks old, is such a massive wriggle bum and still continually on the move (including in his sleep) and everyone comments about how active he is compared to other babies as if we don't know this or it was a surprise. Negatives are that he's such a pain to change as he's constantly wriggling and it means we are never sure if he's asleep or awake due to the movement, positives are that he's likely to crawl/walk sooner but that will bring a whole load of new challenges.
