4-6 weeks gestation, influenza and fever - worried!

Hello

Between an estimated 4-6weeks gestation, I came down with influenza a - fevers for several days and a week off work
Once I realised the risk, I took paracetamol to try to control the temperature, but not straight away

I am besides myself with worry as my research tells me that this is the very worst time to have a febrile illness, with the sensitive time period for neural tube defects

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? I’m hoping to hear that it’s not all doom and gloom but would also like honest answers

Thanks so much

Hi, and congratulations on your pregnancy! I had norovirus when I was around 5 weeks pregnant and like you had a very high temp/dehydration etc and was worried about baby. I'm now nearly 31 weeks and baby is doing fine! If you're worried may be worth mentioning to your midwife when you see her.

Thank you, I know it may sound silly I just worry it was the very worst time, embryology speaking, for it to happen
I’m glad to hear you are enjoying a healthy pregnancy now
Did you hear of anyone else that had a similar experience?
