New pregnancy or left over hcg?

I sadly had a miscarriage 11 + 4 weeks around 8 weeks ago. I was told to retest after and after 4 weeks was getting negatives then a few days later my AF arrived.

This last week or so I’ve been having some symptoms so thought I would test and first response is showing a faint positive! It was ridiculously faint on the first test then a few days later looked a lot darker now it’s very faint again Confused. I had some bleeding at 8 weeks in the last pregnancy and my hcg levels were around 112,000 so would have been even higher by 11 + 4 weeks so is it possible it’s a new pregnancy? I would have assumed that my levels would have gone back to normal after first AF my GP said it’s highly unlikely to still be in my system so must be a new pregnancy but I’m not convinced and really don’t want to get my hopes up. & I know first response are super sensitive so I’m just so confused now!

My AF is due is 3 days and CB digital are negative.

If you’ve had a negative hCG and a normal period since the miscarriage then this is a new pregnancy.

Was supposed to say hcg levels were around 112,000 so is it possible to be left over hormones?

But I hadn’t tested on first response just the cheap tests so that’s what’s making me doubt the positive

If the hCG has reduced significantly enough to produce a negative urine hCG test several weeks ago, there is no way for the body to have suddenly produced more of it again without you being pregnant again. Once it’s gone, it’s gone, if you see what I mean. I assume you’ve not had any symptoms suggesting retained products or anything?

If you are still not reassured with the GP’s advice you’re probably just going to have to wait it out a bit longer and do some more tests.

The cheap strips are still showing negative only first response is showing a positive. Does anyone know what level hcg they can pick up?

Sounds like a new pregnancy @hopeful20191, especially as you had a negative plus a period. First response are super sensitive so possibly you're quite early. When are you expecting af?

I recently had a mmc and just had my first period so hoping we can conceive again quickly. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

I did the first test 7 days ago which was a faint positive and again today another faint positive but only on first response all other testes are showing negative. Surly after 7 days if I was pregnant again the test would be darker? I don’t have any symptoms of retained products Confused

Can you post pictures of the tests @hopeful20191? It might be worth contacting your GP, they may check your blood or refer you to epu.
