Low-lying placenta?

Currently 19+4 with first baby.
Had my anatomy scan at 18 weeks exactly, just had a letter from my doctor that results are normal (yay!) but I have a low-lying placenta and need to have another scan between 28-32weeks to see if it has moved.

Anyone with experience with this? It seems like it's VERY rare for it not to move out of the way on its own but I wouldn't mind hearing from anyone who has gone through this.

Hi I had a low lying placenta that was picked up at 30 weeks and moved at 33/34 weeks, I went on to have a normal delivery. Try not to worry which is easier said than done I know.

I had this too. Had moved by the next scan. Good luck!

I had this. Had to return for unrelated scan after 5 days (they hadn't been able to check babys lips on scan), by which time it had already moved!

I had this. It had moved by 32 weeks.

This was picked up on my early scans too but at 38 weeks I'm one of those minority cases where it's still low-lying.
So I'm now booked in for a Caesarian next week which is considered best for the baby.

It's nothing to worry about really - just watch for any bleeding and let them know if there's any sign of it . I was told I was lucky not to have any.

I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine though. There's still plenty of time for it to move. Good luck!
