Anxious after today

Hi everyone,
I am around 4 weeks pregnant with my first. I tested early so have seen a progression over the past week with the strength of lines in tests. I tested with a Clearblue digital today and that said 2-3 weeks since conception which I expected as I’d been using ovulation sticks so I think it was around 2 weeks ago yesterday/today. I think I’d have been due my period today.

Anyway, the past couple of days, I’ve had a very slight pain (if I can even call it that) low on my
Left side. I’m not even convinced it’s there all of the time and it’s definitely not worsening. This morning, after doing my test, I wiped and thought I saw a hint of colour. Then I went to the toilet at work and saw, what can only be described as a dot, of browny coloured discharge. It disappeared when I touched it (sorry, TMI) and barely even left a stain on the pad. I put a pad on so I could monitor it. I’ve been worried and going to the toilet about 6/7 times since. There’s been no more since. I’ve had discharge but all normal. Like the psycho I’ve turned into, I did the spare, supermarket cheapie I had left over and the line has got significantly darker form yesterday. I’ve attached a pic (top was same time last night, bottom is today). Has anyone else experienced this? I’d appreciate some advice.
This is my first pregnancy so don’t know what to think!
Thanks x

I haven't experienced any staining but I understand it very normal. I had a bad constant pain low on my right side after I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago and was vert worried. I went and had an emergency scan and they found everything was in the right place but warned me that I night experience some bleeding due to implantation, I didn't but very normal to have some pain (as I did) and some bleeding. It's my first pregnancy too and I get worried about every new feeling but I think it is very normal too though we should try not to. Flowers

Thank you @icecreamsoda99 . I figured there wasn’t much point in informing anyone as I’m so early that I know they couldn’t scan yet or anything. Hopefully everything will be fine! I didn’t know if implantation related pain/spotting would be over now as I thought that happened 6-12 days after your period? I just feel confused!
Congratulations on your pregnancy, how lovely 💕

Congratulations to you too, if you are worried see if your hospital has a walk in antenatal department or call them anyway to discuss. Have to say the consultant who did the scan was very dismissive about being able to see anything so early (but they found the sac), but they did take blood tests and confirmed pregnancy, the midwifes/nurses were lovely! I have been told pain could be due to further burrowing of the egg and the uterus streatching getting ready for what is to come, also could be trapped gas! x

I've not had bleeding but I was told with both previous pregnancy and current pregnancy that mild cramping is common as it is the uterus stretching. It's also quite common to have spotting, especially around the time you're period is due so try not worry too much. Every twinge and strange discharge is scary in the first pregnancy isn't it? If the pain gets severe or bleeding heavier or if you do want some reassurance then contact your midwife. They really don't mind about being contacted with any concerns no matter how small, they are very used to it and understanding, especially with first time pregnancy.

Thank you so much @icecreamsoda99 and @ohwouldntitbenice - the hormones must definitely be out in full force as I’ve now got tears at how reassuring you’ve both been! Xx

@Elbie2019 and now you got me tearing up at that! Crazy hormones Grin

I would advise just monitoring the pain as if regular pain or cramping on one side coupled with the light bleeding it could be an ectopic pregnancy, I had one and those were exactly my symptoms. Definitely go to the epu for an next week as they should be able to see something in utero by then. I hope everything works out xx

I am only 8+4, so not far ahead of you. But I have had brown spotting four times. Had an early scan and all was well. I am still worried about it but think it's probably more normal than you realise. If I get through this pregnancy successfully I'll write a book about spotting so other people know!!
