Slow rising HCG

Hi,

I need some advise, I had a positive pregnancy test on the 14th April clear blue showing 1-2 weeks. I then had a bleed and pains - still bleeding now, not loads just when I wipe. I have had 3 blood tests the 1st one was 24th April HCG level was at 98 then I had one 2 days later and it had only risen to 99 HCG so I assumed okay its a miscarriage . I went back to the doctors today for another routine bloods and it’s now at 219 HCG. I’m due back again Thursday. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this before? Does it mean a miscarriage? I’m not in constant pain just light. Pregnancy test still positive and still sore boob, nausea and headaches. Sooo confuses.

Hey lovely. So hard to find info on this I found myself searching everywhere. I can tell you my story which is very recent (yesterday). After I got my positive result easter sat I started having light bleeding and light cramps. I went to early preg unit at hosp and had my hcg measured every 2 days. It was 360,411,395,460. I had a scan yday and it showed an ectopic pregnancy had occurred. It was in the cervix which is v rare apparently but also dangerous. I had to have a methotrexate injection to stop it from growing and hopefully it’s worked or I will need surgery next week to remove it as it’s in a v narrow spot and risk of hysterectomy for me. I was only 6 weeks and the hcg was low so hopefully this drug will resolve it. I think it it’s bigger and depending on where it is people go straight to surgery. We are devastated esp as you can’t get preg for at least three months due to the toxic effect of this injection. I really hope this doesn’t happen to you and you get some answers ASAP xxx

I’m so sorry for your loss lovely🥺!! I just had an ectopic back in December that had to be treated via methotrexate too & i didn’t feel well for a few days or myself for a good couple months😩. I’m praying it’s not the same again. Were your levels rising then dropping & then rising again yeah?xx

Thank you so sorry for your loss too. Yes I think with ectopics they fluctuate around the same bit. It would be crazy for it to happen to you twice- how far gone are you and what’s your levels? I think it can take time to get going when it’s early and I don’t think the level matters it’s more about the rate of increase from what I’ve been told

When I first went in on Tuesday at 30dpo they were 132 48 hours later they were 179 & 48 hours after that they were 252 so I’ve go back tomorrow I’m 35dpo just now x

Well what I’ve read it that if it’s at least 35 % increase in 48 hrs then it’s fine and your most recent ones are like 40% so that’s good! I think they can start off slow initially. Hope they can reassure you some more when you next go and I hope it’s flying up then! Xx let me know how it goes I will be thinking of you

Today’s level is 400 so it was sooo close to doubling, I’m definitely not out the woods just yet but it’s giving me so much hope that my little miracle is fighting🥺💜xxx

That’s reassuring, it’s defo going up and it’s still early days! I guess they will keep monitoring you or have they said it’s ok to wait for scan now ? Wishing you all the luck in the world 🌎
