Hi everyone :)

Need a little advice, I came off my pill about nearly 4 weeks I have had my withdrawal but yet to have proper AF!

So I did a pregnancy test this morning first urine and this is the result (below)!

I think I can see a line but don't want to get excited in case it's my eyes playing tricks on me 🙈

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thank you in advance xx

I’m no expert but it looks more like the test has flooded and is invalid, sorry :( I’d do another x

ChrisPrattsFace · 30/04/2019 08:47

I agree, looks like it’s flooded.
I always peed in a cup and dipped to avoid this! Test again after holding urine or in the morning!

Ah okay!

I didn't know that was a thing silly me, this is a picture after a couple of mins, the other two were straight away! X

Looks positive to me!!

EmeraldRubyShark · 30/04/2019 10:20

That looks positive!

It’s important to assess it after the time limit has passed, put it down and leave the room and go back after three minutes as that’s when it’s accurate; any sooner and it could keep developing and change and after a certain period it’s invalid.

I think that looks like an early positive. Retest on a First Response today or wait a couple of days if you're using those tests.

Babybopx · 30/04/2019 16:28

I have since done 3 more test, with the same sample (cup method) this afternoon and they were all negative even a first response, going to try with first morning tomorrow! X

I did another test this morning very clear negative!

What do I do? Just take the first positive as a false or the negatives as false I'm so confused x

Oh that's so tough.

Trust me I KNOW that this is difficult, but I think you just need to wait a few days and try again.

Fingers crossed for you x

EmeraldRubyShark · 01/05/2019 08:31

I think all you can do is wait a while, maybe a week, and test again x

VenusStarr · 01/05/2019 08:35

@Babybopx was the first test a freedom? They are awful for showing lines when not pregnant - I've had 2 and seen lots on here.

As you've just come off the pill it could be your cycles settling down, or you could be pregnant. Id trust the first response test but maybe test again in a week. Fingers crossed

ChrisPrattsFace · 02/05/2019 07:08

It could also be a chemical. My midwife told me it’s more common in the first months after coming off the pill - I agree with testing again is 5 days or so, with a first response. If it’s still negative then I’m sorry, it’s the start of a very emotional journey!

FlorenceAlice · 02/05/2019 07:20

@Babybopx did you happen to track your ovulation or know when you ovulated? I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant. When I was 8 dpo I took a pregnancy test and I had the same faint positive as you. The next 3 days a POAS but they were negative so I presumed I wasn’t.... but low and behold my period was late. I POAS around 15 dpo and it was positive! Don’t want to fill you with false hope but if you know when you ovulated I would recommend waiting until about 2 weeks later to test... as agonising as the wait is it does save some of the emotional rollercoaster. Good luck Smile

Babybopx · 02/05/2019 07:52

It was a freedom test and I have read tonnes and tonnes of reviews online and I'm pretty sure it's a false positive!

Going to retest next week just to confirm the negative

Thank you for all your help xx
