Early pregnancy symptoms.. is this normal?

I had a positive pregnancy test a week ago (my first pregnancy) and it's still very early (I'm almost 5 weeks) I've been very bloated for the past week and while I was at work last week I had to leave early because I had diarrhoea and a sore tummy (I know, TMI) and I've had it again today as well as being bloated. I've not seen much on websites about getting diarrhoea in early pregnancy but just wondered if this was normal or if anyone else experienced this and how long did it go on for? I wouldn't say I've changed my diet too much but I have cut right down on caffeine (I drink a lot of tea).. any help would be much appreciated! Smile

Yup! I didn't have morning sickness per se but my stomach was not happy at all about pregnancy. It gradually got better through the first trimester and back to normal now. Sorry you're feeling so rough.

Ok, it's nice to know I'm not the only one as I was worried it wasn't normal. I don't have any morning sickness yet. I have an hour's commute to work in the mornings; hence why I'm so concerned about whether it will stop soon. Fingers crossed! Glad it's back to normal for you now! Smile

Yeah it's normal. Lots of women seem to get constipated but I seem to go the other way. It has eased up a little for me and I'm 11 weeks

I got it regularly in the first trimester, I believe its something to do with the hormones but I think it might also be to do with my pre-natal vitamins.

Yep. Not had any constipation throughout. Now 34 weeks. Have had plenty of the other though.

I had it for a fair few weeks (coupled with sickness, cheers body), my whole system seemed rather out of whack.
Hope you're feeling better soon!

It depends on your pre-pregnancy diet I think. If it’s rich in magnesium (nuts mostly) / calcium dairy then you are less likely to be constipated.

I wouldn't say my diet has changed much. I don't like nuts so don't eat them but I have been drinking a lot of water and cut out tea almost completely. So I wonder if that could be causing it.
