Splash back public toilet

Hi ,

Sorry if this is TMI however today I was out at the mall when my tummy turned really bad. Usually I cannot go number 2's in
Public but this was extremely intense. I jumped on the toilet and unfortunately had major splash back.

My concerns are what I may catch due to being pregnant.

Also I'm unsure but due to me being in. Rush I just jumped on the toilet. I know there was abit our toilet paper already in the toilet when I jumped on. So maybe it had pee 😥😥😥

Please reassure me ASAP !!!!

Someone’s more likely to catch something from your splashback if you didn’t clean up after yourself.

kaelaAmumma2b · 29/04/2019 08:33

@Teddybear45 no I'm very tidy and always would never make a mess and leave it there, after all I have OCD.

So your saying chances are very slim ??

Much appreciate.

you're extremely unlikely to catch anything from a toilet unless you were rubbing your anus directly into infected material or licking your hands without washing them after you finished.

And being pregnant makes no difference. It's a public toilet.

englishdictionary · 29/04/2019 08:35

What a bizarre post.

I'm sure you will be just fine OP

kaelaAmumma2b · 29/04/2019 08:38

@codenameduchess
It's really unfortunate but it did splashback right onto "that" area. Otherwise I actually wouldn't be concerned. And because I was moving bowels it may have got inside. I don't know, maybe I'm over thinking it all.

YES , I know it makes know difference that I'm pregnant BUT I'm more concerned about infections and diseases during pregnancy , as you would be.

@englishdictionary
Well I needed reassurance. And there is much of mixed things on google.

One website says your caught everything from A-Z and the other says your not caught anything.

I have OCD which yes I'm getting help , but I seem to be extremely worried about germs.

You will be fine if its urine its sterile anyways you would have noticed poo just wash like you would normally and try not to stress

MustardScreams · 29/04/2019 08:40

Unless you were drinking the toilet water you’ll be fine.

Stressing out and anxiety is probably worse for you than splash back. Have you spoken to your midwife about your anxiety levels?

englishdictionary · 29/04/2019 08:43

Well I needed reassurance. And there is much of mixed things on google.

Reassurance of what?

One website says your caught everything from A-Z and the other says your not caught anything.

So you have come on Mumsnet for a definitive answer?

codenameduchess · 29/04/2019 08:44

Yes, you are over thinking it.

And of course google gave you mixed answers, the internet is not a doctor and is full of unverified and untrue claims.

kaelaAmumma2b · 29/04/2019 08:44

@slipperywhensparticus much appreciated I feel better already.

@MustardScreams
Perfect , happy to hear.

Prequelle · 29/04/2019 08:45

Urine isn't sterile despite the once very wildly accepted belief but OP there's no chance you'll get anything from this

Catching something from someone's pee would be just so rare it would be ridiculous anyway, but you have a mucous plug and all sorts protecting your baby from infection.

kaelaAmumma2b · 29/04/2019 08:45

Also @MustardScreams yes , they're are aware and I am already getting help. I'm actually a lot better then a few weeks ago. But unfortunately it's not something I can switch off overnight. It will take time.

@codenameduchess will keep this in mind for future. But appreciate your time to provide some reassurance

@englishdictionary haha. I don't mind hard criticism or advise but your not really offering any no longer. So if your finished you can leave. ☺️

@Prequelle did seem abit strange to read. But your reassurance will help me sleep tonight. Thanks so much.

gamerchick · 29/04/2019 08:53

You're not going to catch anything from a toilet OP. Just put it out of your head.

kaelaAmumma2b · 29/04/2019 08:55

@gamerchick thanks so much. I'm already very reassured from PP's but I do really appreciate it. ☺️.

gamerchick · 29/04/2019 12:38

don't blame you though. It's really unpleasant when water hits that holy place from a toilet. Public toilet or otherwise.

Darkstar4855 · 29/04/2019 12:42

I’m a doctor. As long as you wash your hands afterwards there is absolutely nothing to worry about!

EmeraldRubyShark · 29/04/2019 13:42

You will be fine if its urine its sterile anyways

Definitely not true :)

kaelaAmumma2b · 29/04/2019 22:05

@Darkstar4855 did I ever !!!
And great. I'm stoked to hear

@gamerchick , yesssss. I couldn't get home fast enough to shower. Thanks for your reassurance once again
