Pregnant and getting cramps... Please advise :(

Hello ladies! I've just found out I'm pregnant. I took two pee stick tests two days ago and got BFPs and a Clearblue digital one today that confirmed I conceived 3+ weeks ago. My LMP (last menstrual period) was on March 15th.

I usually have very irregular cycles anything from 18-45 days. Usually when Aunt Flo's about to visit, I have cramps that feel like my cervix getting contractions (a sort of painful squeeze-release-squeeze feeling that comes and goes). I'm still getting these (since last week) as though AF is about to come any moment. My boobs are sore and I pee so often.

I'm really worried about the cramps. Is this normal? Should I still be getting these cramps even though pregnant? Its my first pregnancy and I feel so clueless and worried. Please help sad

Hi yes it is normal,i had such bad pain from 5wk-7wks,i had to go for a early scan and everything was fine.im now 12wks & still get the odd cramp.
If u get bleeding then get checked over or if the pain gets really bad. X

Try not to worry, I had horrific cramps from 6 - 9 weeks and thought I was miscarrying each time, even after having an early scan and seeing my little bean. Luckily everything was ok and bean is still growing strong (and due any day now!) the midwives said it is really normal, apparently the cramps can be a sign that your uterus is growing! Fingers crossed for you x

I’m having contraction like type cramps as well but keep convincing myself that AF is approaching. I’m 3 days late and my PMS symptoms are far worse this month than any other month

If contraction type pains are normal for you during your period / PMS then I was told they can be normal during pregnancy too. It’s just the way progesterone affects your body. Keep an eye on bleeding / spotting - whether it’s red or brown you definitely want to see the GP if you bleed and have contractions.

Thank you soo much for the feedback! So reassuring. I feel more positive and less worried now. I haven't even felt the cramp in the past 24 hours. I have notified GP today and waiting for my first booking appointment. Will be sure to keep an eye if any bleeding or the contractions get worse, hopefully not. Smile

The same way I'd been feeling the past week, was so convinced it was the usual AF coming, until I took a test and got a BFP. Big shock. I honestly thought it was a false positive. It took two more positive tests on different days to convince me. You might want to take a test and see. Wink

I've never had trouble with period pains but I had cramps/growing pains pretty much the whole way through first trimester. They stopped at second but they're back a bit now in third.
