Large hematoma at 6weeks

Last Thursday I had a large bleed so went to A&E as advised by my midwife. Had blood tests and the next day had an ultrasound.

The ultrasound found I was 6weeks 2 days (I thought I was 7 weeks 2 days), and a large hematoma which is bigger than the baby sac.

A heartbeat was detected on the ultrasound but the lady said it was slightly slow, the report says question mark significance. The CRL measurement is also smaller than 6 weeks.

Given advice leaflet from the ward, and I have another scan next week to check on heartbeat and size of the hematoma.

This is our first baby and would dearly love for everything to go smoothly.

Would love to hear any similar stories and outcomes for the same.

What was the size and the heart rate?

I had a lot of bleeding due to a hematoma - measurements were questionable iirc and it was one of the shittiest times ever. All was well in the end.

My friend who was pregnant at the same time as me had a worrying time with measurements and heart rate being a little slower than they would like - things were also fine for her in the end.

Wishing you the best OP. Take care of you x

MSD = 20MM
CRL = 2.4MM

Unfortunately they didn't give me the heart beat, just said slightly slow

Thank you. Did you do anything differently - have heard drinking extra fluid to avoid constipation may help?

Honestly, I lay on my sofa for a week and literally did nothing. Kept my feet up as much as possible. It doesn’t make a difference as to whether things will be okay or not but it made me feel like a least I was doing something. What I learned was that, when it comes to pregnancy, it’s all speculation. No one can you tell you why something is happening for sure, or whether it’s definitely a good or bad sign. You just have to ride it out and hope for the best (way easier said than done, but anything you can do to distract yourself between appointments is good)

I had a huge bleed from a haematoma at 7 weeks, thought I’d miscarried. It was 8cm so huge too! I’m now 11 weeks and it’s less than 1cm. They told me nothing you can do but to rest, no lifting and no exercise. It could be your dates are wrong and if early like it’s measuring the heart rate would be slow. Mine is an ivf baby so knew exact dates. It’s such a worry and I’ve had some brown bleeding since which they’ve said is the old clot coming out. Fingers crossed for you x
