Hey Ladies,

I need some advice please!

I'm due to have my little girl in 4 weeks and I lost my job around 12 weeks pregnant so I've been going down the maternity allowance route.

I sent off my claim knowing I worked a lot of last year and it's been declined...

I've just sat and worked out via P45s for my 3 employers and all dates to a t and I go past the "26 weeks" you have to work in the test period and I've worked 28+1 for definite (I checked 10x times)

I'm going to dispute the decision on Monday but I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with DWP and maternity allowance claims such as how long it takes for them to relook?

Thanks ladies x

I thought it was only 13 weeks in the 66 week test period???

It’s 26 but 13 weeks highest earnings.

Op have you worked 28 weeks already or is it that you will have by due date?

Parent19876 · 27/04/2019 17:13

Oh dang, you're right. I told misread the guidelines.
Well shit, i guess i won't qualify for it. I've been unemployed and just now got a job at twenty one weeks.

Yeah well they sent me a letter back saying I’m not entitled I have to of worked 26 weeks in my test period (66 weeks before baby due) which is like the 18th feb to 25th may this year. It took me a while as I switched jobs to work out that I did actually work over that so maybe that’s why? They just couldn’t be bothered
