We are planning a wee bit of sunshine before our next baby arrives, want something where I can just sit around and enjoy weather but my very active two year old can be entertained by his lucky daddy! Definately don't want Blackpool in the sun (no offence, but want away from rat race) anyone got any ideas?

You haven't said WHEN you want to go!!

How about Devon or Cornwall. Apparently they are beautiful!

well if you go abroad don't forget your letter from your Dr as you will need it for flying anywhere, ie Ryanair ask for the Drs letter if you are 28 weeks or over.. Looks like a beach holiday would suit the best. Good luck, too many options out there for me to suggest one, it depends on your budget too. Try the holiday threads for ideas.

Yeah, what she said.

How about France.....can drive over rather than flying. We're off to Ile d're little island on the west coast, at the end of August when I will be 16 weeks or so.

Weather there apparently is comparable with the south coast of France so should be nice and warm.

Hey Rascal I've been to the Ile de Re it's gorgeous and nearby la Rochelle is also lovely with fantastic restaurants. Hardly any British tourists so lots of opportunity to practice your French and such friendly people. You will have agreat time

I was thinking of going to visit my mum for a holiday in Spain and driving there, rather than fly, but alas, just bought a house so holidays are out of the question for us right now.

MrsSpoon · 16/07/2007 16:39

Have you seen this?

LOVABUMP · 16/07/2007 17:03

Just to make things difficult we live in North Scotland so 3 hours drive to airport with my ds is more than enough! Would love France or Italy, going to look into it, thanks

Kittiwake - My DH went to Ile de re when he was about 8 (22 yrs ago!) and although we have travelled all over France I've not actually been there.
Can't wait to go - especially as the weather at the mo is so horrible!

www.ownersdirect.co.uk is really good for villas/house rentals. We have chosen it for really out of the way houses with pools that are very good value (that's in Spain though, I didn't look at France or Italy).
