Prune juice. Dried apricots. The natural options.

See your gp. I think many might suggest lactulose. Perhaps a glycerin suppository?

Ask your go they can give you safe medicines to help you go. Do not strain. I got some cosmocol as had a couple of very large painful ones and now have piles to deal with but since taking the cosmocol (movicol I think it is also known as) much easier to go and piles not got any worse perhaps even slightly better.
