I just wondered if an abdominal scan is likely to pick up a heartbeat at 6-7 weeks or if transvaginal is better?

I had abdominal scan 10 days ago, I thought I was 7 weeks but was told I had sac measuring about 6 weeks so to come back and have another scan (tomorrow). I'm so worried there'll be nothing there even though I have lots of pregnacy symptoms.

At 7+3 I had an abdominal scan and could see baby and heartbeat clearly.

I was told transvaginal up to 8 weeks, as abdominal scans aren’t accurate at this stage.

Hello I had one today abdominally at 7+5

Wishing you well tomorrow

My clinic said internal scans were more accurate for early scans. I had internal ones at 7, 9 and 11. The 11 week one could have been abdominal but for a diff reason we had an internal one

I had one at 7+5 and although image was a bit poor because it was so small, we saw baby and saw heartbeat Smile

At 7 weeks I have to have transvaginal to see properly but I do have a tilted uterus which makes it harder to see

Rubberduckies · 27/04/2019 08:23

Same as PP i had a tilted uterus and needed transvaginal at 7 +3 but we then saw a lovely heartbeat. Nothing much to see on the abdominal one.
