Progesterone pessaries anyone?

Hello, I’ve been having TVS due to previous lletz procedures... today my cervix has shortened so I’ve been given 8 weeks of progesterone pessaries to use daily, then a re scan in two weeks time.

Anyone any experience and did they stop the shortening process / prevent pre term labour or early miscarriage (I’m 20 weeks now) thanks you SmileSmile

I use them as I had an IVF pregnancy and so it’s required. No experience with cervical shortening but I should warn you that using them can cause cramping and spotting. It’s apparently normal but with your condition I’d suggest you go to your consultant every time there’s any kind of pain / bleeding!

Thank for your reply @Teddybear45 and for the warning re cramps and bleeding! V useful to know as they didn’t tell me that 🙈
Did you use them throughout pregnancy? Xx

I’m quite early on in pregnancy (not 12 weeks yet) but have been using them since the embryo transfer. Hopefully I won’t need to use it much longer but yeah the spotting and pain terrify me every single time.
