Hi has anyone else been diagnosed with gestational diabetes? My 2hr test come back as 9.8 mmol/L which means I have to make daily changes and monitor my sugar levels. What personal experience have any of you had???

(I found out through the my patient knows best website so I'm guessing I'll get told by MW everything I need to know in time I'm just eager)

hi, i had gestational diabetes with all 4 of mine, i was referred to fetal medicine and had more than the usual scans, and referred to a diabetic consultant, you get monitored closely, obviously you will need to be careful what you eat, no sugar if possible, and cut right back on the carbs. diabetes can make babies larger, but mine were all between 6lb 9 and 7lb 10, gestational diabetes normally goes away once baby is born but its worth to keep checking your bloods for a while after birth
