midwife or gp?

hi everyone! this sounds like such a stupid question but i found out i was pregnant on Saturday and it's my second pregnancy. i was wondering should i go to the gp or do i phone the midwife? thank you Smile

It totally depends on where you live and the procedures in place there. For some this means a GP appointment first and for others it means self referral to the midwives. Your best bet is to ring your GP surgery and ask the receptionist what the process is. They should be able to tell you. Hope this helps. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

We went straight to the midwife

At Mine you have to call the doctors (you don't have to see the GP; just talk to the receptionist) and they get the midwife to contact you
