Anyone else struggling to feel motivated with work?

Only 12 weeks although still waiting for my scan. I'm really struggling with motivation and really bored with what I do, but also don't want to take on anything else. I feel like I've really stretched myself with what my role can do and tbh if I wasn't pregnant and waiting for mat leave I'd be looking elsewhere. Nothing about the company interests me anymore and being pregnant has made me annoyed at myself for coasting (I had a much more stressful job before).

I'd always hoped to go back to work post baby but can't see it now! I'm worried that I'll be giving up work as I dislike it more than because I want to be at home.

Has anyone looked for and found something they actually want to do on mat leave? Or had the same struggle waiting for maternity leave? The sickness is starting to fade so no real excuses now.

I only get statutory pay anyway. It just seems to be taking forever!

Use the rest of your pregnancy and Mat leave to upskill yourself into the job you want to do. That’s what I plan to do. Lots of courses / finishing my degree to allow me to walk into my dream job post mat leave.

I'm also bored at work and 12 weeks pregnant! If we hadn't decided to try for a baby, I would have definitely been applying for promotion elsewhere. But it doesn't go down well in my industry starting a new job then going on maternity leave very soon after.

Unless more challenging opportunities arise at my current place, I'll probably start applying elsewhere fairly soon after returning from mat leave. Seems a shame, as despite being bored I am quite loyal, but sometimes you just outgrow the role you are in and the organisation can't really accommodate that.

I don't know if mine is lack of motivation or just lethargy! I have exams in two weeks, and although I love my course, love the subject, I just cannot focus on anything (see that I am on MN not writing an essay Grin). Having a problematic pregnancy so far which isn't helping, as Id rather be focusing on myself and my kids at this point.

I need a kick up the arse!

Since I agreed my maternity leave start date my motivation has hit bottom. It feels like giving notice. I'm doing the bare minimum at the moment. All I can think about is my future and the baby, and work doesn't factor in to that until September 2020!!

I felt like this from before pregnancy but it's got so much worse now I am pregnant! planning to throw myself into my last few years of uni around work and hopefully get some work experience on maternity leave but aware this will be a challenge!

Yes, also struggling with motivation. I am counting down the days! Am 16 weeks pregnant and with annual leave I only have another 12 weeks until I start winding down, and 16 weeks til I finish! Can’t wait :)
