Not really my baby was constantly active. I think they say any change in baby’s pattern of movements should be reported though so maybe let your midwife know. Do you know if your placenta has moved, whether it was perhaps at the front before so you couldn’t feel as much?

@hazandduck My placenta was anterior yes so I used to mainly feel movements round the side. But now that you mention it I can feel them more at the front!

So perhaps it has moved? Although I didn't know that was possible so late on

I've also been told to only report reduced fetal movements and not increased

Obviously ask your midwife but I read recently that the amount of waters you have peaks at around 35 weeks but baby keeps growing and therefore you may feel the movements more strongly towards the end as there is basically less of a cushion.

With my first and this pregnancy both babies have been very active lots so not noticed more but then as you say it’s more reduced movements that tend to be on your mind.

It’s probably a good idea to give your triage a call - I was told that changes in movements should be reported, not just decreases in movements.

SilverGoldBronze · 22/04/2019 21:10

Any change in movement should be reported and that includes increased movement as well as decreased. I would phone your maternity triage unit and see what they say.

I have an anterior placenta and I'm feeling the baby a lot more recently. From 35 weeks I'd say I've felt it more but I'm guess it's as the baby has gotten bigger and stronger I'm feeling more movement long side, top and bottom

It's so strange being told conflicted things about movement, consultant at hospital only mentioned about reduced movement every time.

I've dropped my MW a message anyway

Please get checked. Any movement change needs reporting. My best friend went in with increased movements and the baby was distressed. They did an emergency section half an hour after she was seen.
